I have so many theories but here's the best one I have. None of the childhood memories we are seeing with Davids parents are his. They belong to someone else. Legion in the comics has an issue with absorbing the minds of others, aquiring there personality, memories and powers. As seen when Lenny appeared to David after she died (David absorbed her personality). Maybe he absorbed the childhood trauma from someone else. It would call into question everything david knows about himself and add a whole new layer to this questioning reality narrative.

In the first episode, the guards had a domino symbol with the line dividing two dots and one dot. Also, the camera perspective from the interrogation scene had the same symbol in the top left. I am guessing that is meant to signify the name, "Division Three."

To your question, YES! The mystery in the story telling is one of the best things about the series - I think the reason some superhero series (no names mentioned but I'm sure we're all thinking along the same lines) fall down is that they spoon feed the audience the narrative, making it borderline unwatchable and definitely unenjoyable.
@jfbowers3697 жыл бұрын
Show more! plus I like the fan service comic book adaptations as well as going down a different path. as long as the story is good and true to the heart of the character or book that is the source. I am really enjoying this show.

I love the way this show is made. My partner hates "the artsy stuff" - but I live for it. It makes the show unique to watch and so opposite to how most of tv is filmed. I thought that the older woman changed his memory. When they first see him as a child in bad - there is a glitch and she makes a movement and then her father is revealed to us as this shadow. I think he might have been ready to say Xavier but she shut it down before he could reveal it. That information could be dangerous for others to know.

Great series so far. As much as I want to have a connected universe of xmen and marvel, I'm ok with it not being connected at all. Many great comic hero stories are one offs, and have no need to "fit in" to an overall story arc. Keep up the great vids as always.

Also, in regards to both the parents theories, and who the "Devil" might be, don't forget that David absorbs consciousnesses. I think that's what the eyes symbolize, that he's never truly alone because of the other people in his head, along with the strange imagery we got in the first episode, like the person that was painted into the wall. There's a chance the "Devil" might be a character that he absorbed the consciousness of, and that may even connect to why he doesn't know who the parents are, or even why he has gaps in his memory. Because some of the memories are truly his... I also think this relates back, somehow, to that clip from the first episode where David's being yelled at and attacked by a group of people surrounding him. I think they may be the moment right before he absorbs those people's consciousnesses.

There is nothing worse than a "re-imagining" of comic media. People watch this show because they are comic fans, and want to see the comic played out. I don't mind the "how" of the storytelling, as long as it abides by what the story is about.

New to your site, awesome breakdown... really looking forward to seeing more... :) i've already subscribed :) I sure hope this show survives. It might get confusing for some but really hope it gets enough fan base to make it... Love the Wes Anderson/Kubrick feel of the show... love superhero content, especially X-Men so this has it all... even the dive into mental illness, obviously it's not a scientific study of mental illness but it gives us a glimpse of it, giving us an opportunity to connect to it.

Cerebro is not explicitly described as a telescope, however the analogy they’re making has some merit. In a way, Cerebro serves as a psychic "telescope" that allows Professor X to reach out across vast distances and "observe" the minds of mutants around the world, similar to how a telescope lets astronomers observe distant stars. Just as a telescope extends human vision beyond the limitations of our eyes, Cerebro extends Professor X's telepathic abilities, enabling him to connect with and understand mutants on a global scale.

Good job on this review! But to me at least it seems very clear that "father figure" is actually David himself... Also fear that he feels is coming from the inside, because the real danger is not others, it's in him - he is the real danger, he is one of the strongest and most powerful mutants, and he can become very dangerous weapon for other people.
