It's covered slightly differently in the comics, essentially as 4th dimensional beings, they exist outside of normal time and space, in the show, even the almighty David can't break into the 'corridor of time'. Trying to time travel is too much for her human form, as 4th dimensional mutants, they are able to exist independent of their physical form (as can Farouk, David and Oliver).

@@jackwhitetron she is an oc introduced in the final season. I feel like she was supposed to be the hero but they also had to finish David's story. They should have had a 4th season just for her
