Legion Go 2TB NVME swap and Read/Write Test

Wanted to swap the NVME but also wanted to test both the stock NVME and the new one.

Hi, you missed a massive step in shutting it down. You have to open it in BIOS mode and turn the internal battery off before opening the hardware. You opened your hardware while the battery was still in use, which is why it turned back on. Please protect your device next time, the Legion Go is a sophisticated beast!

I’ve done this NVME swap on both the legion go and the ROG ally. Never had any problems doing it without the bios shut down. I will definitely look into it when I open it back up.

It’s not a big deal. But if you’re new and never open up the device then you should follow the steps to a, T!

Haven’t seen results yet, but I wouldn’t imagine speeds near rated. That ssd is gen 4 pcie. Legion go is gen 3. But it looks like a good drive.

Just get ssd external hard and 100w dongle with some usb ports walla

How has this drive been working out for you? I read comments from people stating that these drives are overheating and are the same drives being used by Microcenter when they do their 2tb upgrades.

It has been running a little higher temp then normal. I’m currently working on a video to see if I can get it to run cooler.

What is the highest GB you can upgrade the Lenovo Legion Go to it ?

I believe 4TB is the max but finding a 4TB 2242 is the hard part. Unless you use a 2280 with a conversion kit somehow. I would just use the 2TB 2242 and a 2TB SD card.
