IMO I think the battle group boxes are great if you’re new to LI and/or expanding on the starter set. For those of us who were lucky enough to have access to stock along the way as we were drip fed units over the last 7-8 months and managed to grab a few boxes of each. I don’t think they are that useful. I just want an astarties infantry box with less contemptors, and more actual marines. Maybe with some different weapon support squads.

If I were a betting person - I reckon a MkIII infantry box with Breachers, Tartaros Terminators, different heavies/specials, despoilers and maybe recon.

@@LItbashing not so sure on breachers and despoilers yet but yeh mkIII with alternative heavy/special weapons for sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if it has normal mkIII tacticals over breachers or despoilers though. Which would be both awesome and annoying 😅

@@xXRogalDornXx well we know that there are more Astartes core choices coming as the Demi Company limits compulsory core choices to Tacticals - which would be a meaningless limit if they weren’t on the way eventually!

@@LItbashing yeh I’m not saying they are not coming. Just that I don’t think they will be the next infantry box. This is James workshop we are talking about. They couldn’t even release models they already used to make at the start of the game. As an imperial fist player please give me breachers squads 🙏

the battlegroup boxes being limited release was such a dumb idea on GW's part. These boxes should have been launched alongside the starter and be permanent products. I sometimes feel like they *want* the game to fail, between how the releases are done, how they're doing the rules, and how slow they are rolling out the releases.

Battle groups are almost always limited - Old World seems to be unique in being permanent to the range. They are great though, and still seem to be pretty availablez

@@LItbashing I really feel like they need something like this as a long term product for LI. Easy way to add to an army or start another without buying a big launch box

@@jacket2848 The game wouldn't be dying if they didn't do the worst version of the black books possible. And also if you could even order any of it half the time. Also I think the game would be far more popular if it was 40k and not Heresy.

I'am pretty MEH with the Astartes box, I'd rather have maybe a land raider box over the Rhinos and Predators or Sicarans over the Kratos plus I already have way more contemptors than I'll ever use, so pretty much a hard pass for me.

Yeah I think that would have been more fun! Just a pick and mix in general. A sprue of vanguard, a sprue of predators, a sprue of Kratos, a sprue of sicarans etc.

I would be really happy to swap out 1 sprue of Rhinos for 1 sprue of Spartans or the Sicarans like u suggested. The Spartans have done me proud when I've used them so more would be epic (sorry, pun intended!). Variety is the spice of life, after all!
