re similar sets at 14:02 isn't the Williams F1 just Silver Champion but with smooth panels ?
@LayoutMaster7 ай бұрын
Yes it is. As soon as I saw that complaint I had the exact same thought. Ironic that the large sets that actually are nearly identical were the F1 cars from 20 years ago.

I hope "LEGO" will learn to make tires with different widths. I'm serious, "LEGO" has NEVER used mixed width tires on an F1 car! They should learn from "CaDA" (Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN C42) P.S.: The soundtrack from NFS: Shift 2 is perfect here!
@Thinginator7 ай бұрын
Actually they have used mixed width tires, back in the 70s and 80s several sets used doubled and even tripled-up narrow tires to represent F1 tires. This was great for alternate models as well because this way the set had like 10 wheels in it.

I saw the 42171 in one of official Lego stores. It is impressive and very cool but somehow I like the 8458 better! There is a typo at 16:08, 8458 was released in 2000 not 2020.

How do you keep the stickers adhered? I’ve experienced them coming off with time, and I carefully clean the Lego parts with alcohol before applying the stickers.

I need those dishes in gray. They are pretty much perfect for Tiger/Panther models aren't they? If you put them on the standard ~4.8 stud wide tracks, can you fit two of them besides the center part?

Hey Sariel, I feel bad for saying this, but would you please make a lego tutorial on how to use the new powered up widgets? I cannot find ANYTHING on youtube that gives a guide, and I feel ike im not the only one that has this problem. It would be Much appreciated. 😊 Ps. Sorry for offtopic comment.

Not a problem, but I haven't touched the Powered Up app in ages and I don't even know about any widgets, I'm using BrickController 2 with a PS4 pad instead. Perhaps you could give it a try?

which functions do you expect to have in a F1 Lego car?
@searme7 ай бұрын
From the top of my head: adjustable rear wing, adjustable suspension, mechanically opened engine bay, like they did back in 2000. Also, nobody is forcing LEGO to release two super-new super-similar cars two years apart, there are dozens of amazing and unique vintage F1 vehicles.

Sad to see them use the same rear suspension setup they used on the 42000. It is designed way to weak and will break over time. I still hope i will find this set for a reasnobale price since i wasnt able to afford the 42000 bavk then
@PhoenixClank7 ай бұрын
This is actually the first Lego F1 car with a pullrod suspension on the rear axle instead of a pushrod one. Still too little Technic-al innovation for me. Also surprised that you didn't mention that the "steering rectangle" in the cockpit is always misaligned by at least 1/16th of a revolution. (This is a criticism that also applies to the glorious Silver Champion, but it's half as bad there because they used bigger gears.)

“Extremely repetitive and boring” will it be so for those of us that have not built the McLaren F1? I think we are more likely to get printed sidewalls than we are to get different width tires.

Still kinda surprising they went for a car that wasn't very succesful. But hey, at least it's based on an actual car, unlike that silly McLaren. Yet I still don't like it. And no, that's not because of it's price, the lack of functions, the insane number of stickers, or the fact that it's a Mercedes. No, I don;t like it because it includes stickers with my previous employer. And let's just say that's one shitty company. Glad I left after staying there way too long....
