Whenever a brand new technic car I always turn to Racing Brick or Sariel for an outstanding indept review. The editing, lighting and music are so elegant in Sariel's videos and Racing Brick tookb new approach from comparing the real thing to the lego set to being in a really funny location. Honestly love both channels.

Always appreciate the honesty in these reviews. A very prestigious/expensive display model however the comparisons gave me more appreciation for Sian in how well all the exterior paneling fits together with little to no gaps. I do however really like how all parts are printed throughout the build. Seriously, very much like Porsche 911 Creator model anything licensed or as expensive should be devoid of any stickers. Would really like to see some super cars in the Creator Expert line again some day as they're not quite as expensive, large or intimidating to assemble.

Finished my set 2 days ago 1st thing: I still think you are speedruning those builds... box 2 alone took me 8 hours (and it was longest box) Whole building process took me little over 14hrs This set looks amazing in my shelf behind glass... I just love how it looks, 100% best of all 1:8 supercars (I don't have 911 GT3 unfortunately) There are few things that I don't really like/that annoys me: -section from rear end to dorrs looks like it's "moving" like in last Lego Ferrari set (idk maybe it's Ferrari thing) -during building and picking up finished model rims were leaving very little amount of silver paint on my fingers, does it happend to you too? - speaking of picking up... as you said this car is quite challenge to pick up, wheels are best option in my opinion - and mirrors... I think it will always be the weirdest part of those sets But even with those things I love this set, time it took to buy and build it was 100% worth it. Oh wait... I forgot... no bag so -1 point from opinion lol

Thx for the nice review! A little thing: 39:07 I don't think the flex axles are supposed to be the immitation of the supports for the windschield. I woul rather say that the flex axles are the splines of the windshield surface to support the general 3d-form of the windshield and the "a-pillar" is missing. There are images of the real Daytona/3d-models where you can see that the distortions of the reflections in the windshield fit the flex axles. To 'fix' this you can maybe add an addtional bar for the a-pillar, but not sure if that would not just make it ugly :D.

I for one like the windshield solution here. One of the drawback of the Technic supercars for me always were the big gaping holes instead of windshields, here, moving the supports inboard made much better suggestion of the actual car's windshield unique shape.

Fantastic review as always, never failing to impress as usual! :) This is a tough one; it's improved and refined in some areas over the Lamborghini Sian, but goes back a step in others. I think what will stop me getting this outright is how relatively similar it appears to build compared to the Lambo in terms of the structure under the body. Although I didn't realise until this video that both the Ferrari and the Lamborghini sets were designed by the same person, and in fairness I accept that being based on a real car there's only so much you're allowed to change or do and if it was fine before, stick with it and make necessary improvements. I guess being the fourth car in the series now, the fatigue might be setting in? Perhaps if this set is being built by someone who hasn't built the Lambo or any of the past Ultimate Supercar sets, they will not be disappointed by the build experience one bit, cos it is amazing, if not rather long. As someone who built the Lambo and Porsche......I dunno, unless I was a huge Ferrari fan, maybe, but the Lambo was pretty draining to build, even though it's nowhere near the biggest Technic set! Great review again and awesome set, but perhaps not for me this time.

I just finished this build and I think the result comes out quite beautiful. However, I noticed a few instances where the instructions were backwards or didn’t match results in later diagrams. Also, the set was missing 2 essential pieces…1 blue connecting pin (Bag 1) and the piece that attaches the prancing horse emblem to the rear assembly. Fortunately I was able to work around both issues.

After watching this review, I’m now 50/50 on getting this set lol. I really want to like this technic set, but I find creator experts (like F40 and Porsche 911, and getting Delorean soon) more realistic and more fun to build. Like it feels much nicer to hold it in your hands compared to this massive set. But I’m really torn whether to get it.
@rubenbloemert78862 жыл бұрын
the creator expert vehicles are different. those are all build at different scales, while the technic supercars are all built at 1:8 scale. the technic cars are also more interesting in terms of functions, but the creator expert cars are sometimes more challenging to built

Love the review. Hard disagree on the Sian being more flowing as a Lego set. Like you mention, perhaps the shape and appearance at many angles of the real Sian translates very well into Lego technic panels, contrasted with the tall order of emulating the fluid lines of the Ferrari. Also, the use of over-use of flex tubes on the Sian really emphasizes the large gap-to-panel ratio. On looks alone, Ferrari definitely takes cake, but I appreciate the differing opinions :)

Lamborghini really lend themselves to Lego as they’ve always had that ‘angular’ look. Ferrari are more ‘curvy and flowing’. Still I think they’ve done a good job, the only part that looks a bit off maybe is the rear wheel arch. I’ll reserve judgement until I complete my own and see it in the flesh.

Let’s face it who will do the things you’re doing to a set a regular collector will build and end displaying? It’s a nice review you did but nitpicking on the obvious faults I have to watch those parts repeatedly like what could’ve been done better or is there a small mod that can be done to make the headlights look closer to the source material. My biggest gripe is the windshield, I get that isn’t not on the actual car but if it was taken out the set’s design could you imagine how the set would’ve looked like? I feel like it’s still a nice set. Obviously I bought one for myself to build and display. The set might be flimsy and to some might feel unfinished but I have the same thoughts with the Ferrari 488 you reviewed, it sure feels incomplete and wobbly but if I’m only buying it to build and display and maybe occasionally roll on the table wherever pleases me would it really matter for me or anyone who does as what pleases them?

hey. Great review, just as always. Also; I am proud owner of your "The Unofficial Lego Technic Builders Guide" (first edition though, maybe gonna grab the 2nd edition, if it is still out there..!) Can it be, that the steering system in this Ferrari is an actual "ackermann steering" system, while in the Lamborghini, it isn't? . . ( About the THIN lift arms, that are being used in this set for the suspensions: I once tried building a front axle: full suspended wheels, propelling differential front axle, plus ackermann steering, and in that prototype, which still exits to this point, I "was forced" to use thin lift arms as well. And it even "misses" a 4th somewhat maybe important lift arm left and right, due to the steering mechanics ..Did you ever build such a front axle, that "has got everything in it" ? CAN it be, that these new RIMS are a game changer here?!))
@searme2 жыл бұрын
No sir, no Ackermann here and no game changing rims. And I don't have to build an axle that has everything in it because LEGO already did it. Set 8880, year 1994.
@p3rpl3x19852 жыл бұрын
@@searme ah, okay. Thank You very much for clarification on Ackermann yes or no here! I meant with "game changing", that ...it looks like there simply has to be more space "in" the rim,..or at least I wish that was the fact. but maybe you did understand that right right, of course, how I meant that, and there really is no more room than in other rims. ^^* okay, I will have to accept that. . . Yes, I am proud owner of the beautiful 8880 super car, I am aware of the fact, that Lego already did "build" a propelled front axle with differential, and this had the ackermann steering system. .. However, LEGO back then had this totally unique system, how these 2 parts were clipped into the rim. So with this particularly pre-determined shape of the ackerman system, the length/wide-ratio of the car was determined as well. That is, why I tried to build it myself, as well: Just to try and see if I can do it. And as well, because I wanted to try it with newer tires... i do not know exactly, which LEGO cars - after the 8880 - had an actual ackermann.. Upon that, I am pretty sure, that the 8880 - up to this day - is the only car, that had that "all in it"-front axle, ain't that right(?) I wonder if there ever will be another super car that could live up to the wow experience I had back then with the 8880 once again, ......I whish they simply "dropped" one like it, unannounced, just like.."oh and hey, no real brand Porsche or Bugatti or Lamborghini or Ferrari, just the next in our "super car series" ...... ohh how I would probably feel like I was 9 years old again ^^* Thank You so much again for answering my question

Thank you for the review. While the set looks amazing at first glance the fact that the cockpit and engine compartment are bare bones is a dealbreaker on this one for me. This set is 500.00 in Canada here and I just cannot justify that for a set that has basically same gearbox as the others and is a step backwards on inner details. If one of your functions is an opening engine bay, you should have a gorgeous detailed compartment. And that dashboard.......so laughably basic.
