The smaller Technic cars were beginning to annoy me, but this one didn't. I loved making this. Also, this is my favourite music track of yours, so I love hearing it again.

I think this set shows the problem with all of those licensed sets: It has become more important to look like a certain thing than it is to look just good. At this scale, anything made from Technic will look quite crude. For more intricate shaping, there's just no alternative for System pieces. And functionality wise, this is a perfectly fine Technic set for the price and scale. That door mechanism, that's indeed brilliant! But most of these sets just get a few panels hinged on a pin, just because that's what the real thing has. Boring! Forget about those licenses (keep those for the Creator series), and just let designers go wild with mechanisms like that! And as much as I like that more sets now become available in multiple colors.....dull and duller indeed is a weird choice.

also you forgot about the part where you can take out the steering gear and put it in the hood (it fits perfectly)

I actually enjoyed this build a lot; it definitely falls down in its appearance in a number of places, and I can't imagine how hard it was even trying to get the set to resemble the real car. Even though none of the functions are anything new, they're welcome to have when they're usually lacking in these sets. I've not got the Kawasaki set so the fake engine setup here is new to me and I found it a lot better than before; it lets the rear wheels spin a lot more freely than expected. Notice how when you spun the right wheel rapidly, it kept going for a little while, when in past sets it stops pretty much immediately. The doors was really well done; the designer could've just made them open upwards, while attached by a single simple pin, so making them open like the real car is great attention to detail. All in all, a far from perfect set, but the build and functions are the standouts from this; it still looks pretty sleek even though its resemblance isn't fully realised. It's certainly got, as Doug Demuro would say, some "interesting quirks and features!" I was going to skip this set, but I saw it for about 36% off for the white version, which is a healthy early discount and I figured why not? The white version is exclusive to just one other store outside of Lego in the UK, a supermarket called ASDA whose company colour scheme is green and white, ironically enough! Even though it's a bland colour, I actually rather like this in white!

Agree with your review, the technical and price aspect of it is interesting, but the aesthetics and sticker heavy (hate the headlights) didnt make it look attractive/close to the real car. At the end of the day we want to put it on display (at least for me). I disagreed with RacingBrick raving reviews on this set. Rather just save more for a larger Technic or a CADA.

Looks like they took a page out of Mazda when it comes for "colors" for fun car - one of the best fun cars being made today (MX-5) is available in colors which combined scream "depression" (which makes 90% of them purchased as boring red)

The wheels! Ugh! The most horrendous feature of the set. Scratch that and everythins is spot on. Even better than the Daytona, the P1, the GT and the ... (the Sian might be the exception)

Sariel I think you are a bit harsh. You can't rave about the doors and only give it a 4 for functions. There are five anyway, steering, doors, opening hood, opening trunk, and piston engine

@@Bowl849you can see at the bottom of the page when he give the star ratings that 3 is average, more is above average and less is below average. The functions are average for a technic car and the doors bump it up a star.
