I like that the off-roader has those little fenders on it. Makes it seem like some kit/upgrade for a truck rather than a purpose built off-roadsr.

This set was a big surprise; I did not expect the truck to have so much travel for the suspension compared to so many other past sets that had similar style of suspension setup. It can really be launched and bounced around a lot! I wasn't going to go for it but at 40% off already, I figured why not!

I love this set. I don't normally buy City stuff, but I saw this on the shelf and the shape/colors screamed '90s Ivan Stewart trophy truck, even with the oversized wheels. It's so fun to drive around on the table I don't mind the weird look, and the bikes/animals are a great bonus.

I kinda want speed champions do this. I like the cars at 6 wide but, I love these new 6 wide windshield pieces. I like to use the 8 wide car chasis for 18 wheelers.

05:40 yeah I think the sleeping bags should’ve been regular 4x2 plates, with a 2x2 plate on one end and a 1x1 plate and a 1x1 triangle plate to give the half opened sleeping bag look in a brick built way.

I actually really like the tent build. The clips sort of give an illusion of tent plugs.

The tent design looks great and can easily be repurposed into a ramp for the truck/the bikes, something I think was done on purpose.

I agree with you that this is a great little set, I was surprised at how extensive the side builds were. I do love the livery of the truck, my plan when getting this is rebuilding it into a classic Toyota Hilux or Nissan Patrol or something like that.

That truck looks more like a monster truck than an off-roader, with how big those tires are. I like 80s-style graphics and colors on the truck and torsos. :) I'm shocked this is only $30!

I'm sure you could make some alterations to change the wheels to make it more of a standard pickup rather than this truggy style, but for younger kids that might not be able to do that, this is perfectly fine as is.

The graphics on the truck give me an early ‘80’s Toyota pickup vibe. I wonder how it would look with normal City off-road wheels and tires installed on the existing Technic connectors. 🤔

I was thinking that this was going to be more like $40. More and bigger terrain would be nice but that would bump the cost a bit too much above the accessible amount. At $30 more kids will get to enjoy it given how much of it is play value. Glad the bikes are different colors.

Can you connect the tires without the large l shaped pieces and bubber bands? It would fit well with the a frame and tree house if the suspension wasn't there.

I don’t really understand the headlight print. I’ve seen it in a ton of sets and it always looks to me like a Ninjago ninja with “LIGHT” written on his mask. Is it in reference to a real thing?

They're not headlights, they're classically-styled auxiliary high intensity lights for nighttime running, and the prints represent covers that people put over them when they're not in use to prevent damage to the glass lenses from airborne rocks.
