Looks great! One side benefit I'm noticing is how reflective the MILS plates are, meaning you see the city reflected which looks awesome and clean. Whenever you have a space waiting for work like modulars etc, you could add in some diggers, scaffolding, labourers, JCBs, builders, safety fencing etc as if they are working on what will eventually be there. Would make the city feel like it's alive and mean that spaces are always active even with just a few of those sorts of vehicles and people. They could move around if you have a stock supply of them!

Looks awesome, the MILS conversion was definitely a great idea. I think removing the white line on the edge of the road at the entrances to the Fire Brigade, Ghostbusters HQ and Corner Garage would make the roads seem a bit more seamless.
@TheOtherGuys22 жыл бұрын
An idea for behind the Spring Lantern Festival. It's kind of secluded back there, behind other buildings and away from the streets, so it would be interesting to put something in there that your city doesn't seem to have yet. I'm thinking of an area that's a bit darker, less kept up than the shiny buildings lining the street. Like, you go down the back alley behind the diner, and then around the festival, past a fence, and you find like, some older apartment buildings, a storage warehouse, and a questionable restaurant. This could be a place to set up a lot of details using all the baddies that come with Police city sets. I dunno about you, but I've ended up with more of those than I know what to do with, so maybe they should have a hideout somewhere.

That's a great idea, I'm the same with a crazy amount of police officers and criminals so a rough crime type area would be a good way to make use of them!
@TheOtherGuys22 жыл бұрын
@@simonmartin762 And obviously they're getting up to Lego-type crimes. Not suggesting to have minifigs like.. doing drug deals, or forming street gangs.. Lego criminals usually are more into bank robbing, loot stashing... Maybe stealing cars, or stalking up on dynamite, and definitely collecting supplies to break other baddies out of jail. That's most of what they do, it seems. :P Also general mischief like releasing zoo animals, leaving doors open, putting coins on the train track... They really liven up the city!

Hey Jordan, the city is really taking shape now and is looking much better thanks to your (and Josee's) creativity and MILS! Hope you don't mind me suggesting a simple and minor improvement though - where the vehicle accesses meet the road (such as Ghostbusters HQ and Corner Garage) I have made the white lines dashed using 1x1 and 1x2 plates and it looks much better, I even made a dashed yellow line at the Garage entrance to match the colour which would work with Ghostbusters too. Keep up the good work.

Hey bricksie, once you created your custom table would u consider modularising the Byers house from Stranger Things for your residential or campground area and then creating some sort platform underneath to put the upside down version on. Also I thing a subway line underground the sides of the down town area would be awesome
@Bricksie2 жыл бұрын
That would be pretty cool! But I think that set will be staying on the shelf.

A subway line downtown would be awesome! When you do get custom tables, you should incorporate that. Have a hanging platform underneath the edge of the tables.

I like to think I gave you the idea for going light bluish-grey for the sidewalks, haha, but it looks great! For the train station, maybe move it to where the Spring Lantern Festival is and push that down one baseplate? That way, the back of the train station is touching the train track on the other side?

I think where you have the empty plates in front of Mr. Hooper's is a good place for a park and maybe a small, one lane road to pass right in front of Mr. Hooper's like on the show. However, where it is might make is a weird place for a road, you'd have to build another 16x32 corner MOC to fill the space between Sesame Street and Peter's Apartment, and of course make a 32x64 park that would basically be hidden away by all the buildings. It's not the best idea I have for that area, but then again, I'm guessing you're just placing Sesame Street there until you get other buildings, then you'll move it to the corner, right?

Losing the play function is a minor takeaway from the major benefit of Diagon Alley being on MILS plates. I'm glad that Pop Culture Street is complete and you're one step closer to completing the MILS conversion even if you have a ways to go overall in the whole city. Yours and Mrs. Bricksie's hard work is paying off. 👍
