Now all we need is a story about what Chase did between the main game and prequel, and a sequel to figure out where Blackwell went.

A sequel might be hard to do since either they have to expand the game map to create more locations since most of Lego City has been already explored on the main story, but a game set on what happened during the prequel and the main story could turn very interesting, something like a spin-off but still related in a massive way to the main story

Blackwell were allways mystery it will be funny if lego made new game about how chase had to go back to other Side of world and in cutscene he will saw how Blackwelll landed but in this place he cant arrest him so he let him go but soon Blackwell will get not only manison but also mussles like rex soon he will try to find something to arrest him legaly somehow he will got soon to gang or mafia undercover and while doing their qests in like a bank when he open safe there will be robering Blackwell and big hole in safe chase in cutscene will run After him but he will run away or something but in bank will be camera so he can legaly arrest him then will he have to find him by mafias and gangs and final epic battle

But in the second (both wii u and newer version) we can confirm it must have been because he was promoted to a detective, and although they didnt mention it maybe he was in like a gang or street crimes task force.

That might of originally been the case with the remaster since upscaled versions of the 3DS exclusive characters alongside level names for the 3DS levels can be found in the files.

If you actually think about it, in the Wii U/Switch/PS/XBox version it tells about a scandal which Forrest Blackwell wanyed to build his monstrosity right in Bluebell Park. The only connection of the time between the park and the city was the Auburn Bridge, and later Blackwell will build a bridge to connect Bluebell to the Main Island. And if you remember, many of the criminals caused troubles in precise areas, like Auburn, so the bridge wouldn't have been repaired, then with the caos provocated in Fort Meadows would have distracted both the Bluebell police, and then the main police to Apollo Island, which later, it would have ended the plan in Bluebell, blowing up the forest, but the bombs were defused, Blackwell went hiding, and Rex Fury was technically free to do whatever he wanted, and stole some explosioves, but then got arrested. In the end Blackwell was ahead of everything in both the games, he controlled Rex, Rex controlled the criminals and Pappalardo, meanwhile Pappalardo had affairs with Chan Chuang. But also director Stonewall of Albatross Island was into the affair, he said by himself during the bathroom call, it was Rex. And then there's Blue (that one prisoner that has the Morgan Freeman voice), who knew that there was something dirty going on Albatross all the time. Then we don't have to forget that there were many Blackwell's creation on Chase Begins, other than the bridge, mostly the railroad. And also Blackwell could have done it easily because the mine and the dam were mostly owned by him, so technically that would have been a way to solve many problems. And in the end there is the fact that probably, slightly after Chase has been exiled, the Blackwell's scandal began, and he built only the bridge and the railway before he could actually start his plan.
