It's not often I see people who love this game as much as I do. Like you, I consider LEGO City Undercover to be my comfort game as well. I was in high school when it came out on the Wii U and it...brings me so much joy even into my adult years. Amazing that it will be ten next year. It is disheartening to see not many people fawning over this game as they do with others, including Skywalker Saga as of recent. Despite that, I do hope that one day it'll get another continuation. Maybe it's just wishful thinking but part of me is hoping they're just waiting for the right time to do it. Sequels can take years to develop and I prefer they take their time and not rush it. But I never knew the Tt devs considered that game to be their favorite so it kinda brings me hope. With Skywalker Saga done, I hope they're considering revisiting this series. If not then maybe this game's legacy will forever be great. Great Video.

complete timeline. Probably the coolest thing that nobody has talked about. The Lego 2011 police Station set shows Derek as one of the characters he has the same face. but his hair is covered by the cap he’s wearing. and also one of the criminals is in the game. he also came out in a few other sets. always wearing some kind of hat. Another cool thing is the Lego sets kind of tell a story. For instance the 2011 police station set takes place right before the game. hence why they have different badges. 15:39 And then we see him more and more first case being when he first came out in that Lego set. Then coming out in shorts. we can assume that the shorts and the rest of the Lego sets came after the game take place a few years after undercover which is why he is seen so much. he is well trust in the moment everybody police department in Lego city. also in the shorts which is why lots of criminals know his name because it’s still fresh in their minds what happened to Rex fury and everybody else. and I have a theory for why he doesn’t come out anymore. ___________________________ Theory 1 He retired. so he already pretty old so eventually he retired. ___________________________ Theory 2 He could’ve been fired or demoted: most likely for this. 22:25 for police brutality. ____________________________ Theory 3 the most likely He could still be working as a cop and we just don’t see him anymore ___________________________ Theory 4 Duke detain could be an alternate version of him from another universe. having the Nickelodeon show be in a different universe. Or he could be his son! his son changing his name to “Duke detain“ as a fake not to be associated with his father. I don’t watch the nickelodeon show. Also thank you for making a video about one of my favorite games from my childhood 🫶

I desperately wanted a WiiU just for this game. My parents never gave in but I’m glad they didn’t, the console didn’t last long. When they remastered it for Xbox One, I bought it as soon as I could! It remains my favourite LEGO game. It has the funniest, sharpest, most adult comedy and script. The hub world is simply stunning - none of the others come close. Chase is a fantastic lead - I have the minifigures of both versions somewhere in my room. When someone asks what LEGO game I recommend, I always say this one!

Here is a bit of a follow-up comment towards my previous one that was regarding how _LEGO City Undercover_ was sadly underutilized by The LEGO Group. While it is a tragedy that The LEGO Group has practically abandoned _LEGO City Undercover_ and never utilized its true potential, the memories I have of the game will still continue to live on to this very day. LEGO can retire sets, themes, and concepts, but they will never be able to retire our fond memories of the things we love. This reminds me of how despite never owning any _LEGO Ninjago_ sets, I am still a passionate fan of the franchise even though I've only seen the amazing TV show! Even when the _Ninjago Legacy_ remake sets have been retired, the show still holds up as more of a saga than a toy advertisement, and that's what mattered to me. And the same can be said about _LEGO City Undercover._ Even if it primarily utilized retired products, reused models from previous games, and a scant amount of sets from years 2011-2013, it still encapsulates the whole appeal of _LEGO City._ And the best part about a theme having great tie-in media like _Ninjago's_ TV Show, _The LEGO Movie,_ or _LEGO City Undercover,_ is that they can be revisited by future generations and create new memories for them, even if they cannot buy any of the sets shown of in the tie-in media. Our favorite LEGO sets and themes will retire from being sold some day, but the memories we have of them will never retire.

LEGO City Undercover is also one of my absolute favorite games! It's one I can keep going back to; it's comforting. I would LOVE a sequel! I think, for me, one of the reasons it just feels so good and fresh is that is was NOT a licensed game. With all of the licensed stuff, we all had an idea of what to expect from characters and plot. But with LCU, it was all completely new, so jokes were fresh and situations were unexpected. Sure, they did a lot of homages to classic TV and movies, but it was an original IP, so we had no expectations. I love this game so much!

My man! Another true fan of Lego City Undercover! I actually started off with the 3DS version because I drive semis and couldn't really hook up a TV in the bunk, plus the all the bumps would kill the laser alignment of the system. I did eventually get a Wii U and the proper game and loved it. I was over the moon when it was getting ported to PC. I could download it on my laptop! Since then, I have come close to logging in 800 hours in the game on Steam. I saw it as a more accessible version of GTA since rather than assaulting people to take their car you just shout, "Police business!" and they willingly get out. And I have collected all three versions of the Chase minifig even. I got the Dimensions pack, which I also love for allowing me to insert Chase into all those other worlds too. The other two I got off eBay along with both red getaway cars and the Dasher motorcycle. And I would like to note that the song used in the Lego City Undercover ad for the port was called "Electric Groove" by the band LazerHawk. I was pretty disappointed that Chase has been retired though. It really hurt in I think the second season of LEGO City Adventures when there was an exchange with a Lego sister city. I really thought we would see the Chase/Duke buddy cop episode we disserved. Instead, it was a British lady. But LEGO City Undercover has been the foundation of my concept of Lego City in general. I made a minifig of myself, as most Lego fans do. And came up with stories for him in Lego City where starts as a truck driver like me but is quickly pulled into crazy adventures after accidently being pulled into a portal. Professor Stan Leroy (my own Stan Lee kind of guy) and his assistant Sasha Fury (distant relation to Rex) were experimenting on a Vortex generator that had been unearthed decades ago under Apollo Island. It malfunctioned and accidentally pulled my guy into a dumping ground where excess stuff from throughout the multiverse ends up. While there he finds all kinds of cool stuff whisked away from other dimensions. Once he's extracted, he is made a member of the team so along with Sasha and Stan Leroy he explores the different dimensions.

I remember playing this game and having some really fond memories of it back in 2013! While I never 100% completed it as a kid, I bought the Switch version back in 2020, and managed to 100% complete it for the first time! TT Fusion did a great job at achieving the goal of trying to create a _LEGO City_ video game, where the player can engage in all of the major jobs of LEGO City. (With the undercover part being a clever way to integrate the need to commit various crimes throughout the story.) I also fondly remember buying the 2013 High Speed Chase Set [Set Number 60007] from LEGOLAND California on my birthday, and later playing out many stories with the Chase McCain Minifigure! To this day, I really do wish The LEGO Group did a lot more with the universe of _LEGO City Undercover,_ as I'd say the game helped give _LEGO City_ a more concrete identity through its narrative, just like _Bionicle,_ _Monkie Kid,_ or _Ninjago._ (The latter of which I am a huge fan of.) I get that the original intent of the _LEGO City_ theme is that the Sets are supposed to be generic enough for children to imagine unique stories for the characters, but having established characters like Johnny Thunder, Tahu, Lloyd, or Emmet are just as great! Given the common complaint about _LEGO City_ Sets nowadays being that they are too focused on action features and capturing the attention spans of children, I sort of wish that The LEGO Group had _LEGO City Undercover_ be a subtheme of _LEGO City,_ focusing more on creating action sets starring the game's established characters, thus freeing up the main _City_ sets for more ideas towards slice of life scenarios as seen in recent _LEGO Creator_ or _LEGO Friends_ sets.

I still prefer LEGO Marvel 1 and Batman 2 for nostalgia reasons, but LEGO City is truly the shining City on the hill when it comes to LEGO games, it's just so rich and funny. So full of stuff to do in an impeccable and memorable Open World that's just so so BIG. You never runnout of stuff to do, and everything in the open world feels less organized than other lego games, like the city feels alive, and real, the limitations on your freedom of movement makes traversing the open world so enjoyable, because you can take the train, steal a car or walk around, taking in the scenery and discovering stuff to do, instead of just flying everywhere like in other LEGO games. Beautiful game.

Hey I just started playing this game recently because of this video and just wanted to say it's fantastic. One of the best lego game and open world experiences I've had. Also idk if this is a hot take but I lowkey think this game has the best Lego combat. Yeah there's no real threat of death obviously but I find chases Judo thows and tossing guys into eachother engaging compared to just bashing guys until they break apart in most lego games

I completely agree. I think it has better combat than all the other LEGO games

How the police want to be seen: Lego City Undercover How they actually act (mainly towards black people): Lego Dimensions Also, I like how they used Lego sets in this game like the Police Station (set #7498), Forrest Police Station (set #4440), the Grand Emporium (set #10211), and others.

this was the first game i got for my wii u (though it also came with nintendo land), got the collector's edition as well and i still have the original figure, remember playing this a lot alongside the first splatoon game and mario maker, way too many underrated wii u exclusives nowadays
