LEGO City Update | Bike Lanes & Amusement Park

I love the bike lanes however i suggest that your turn the 2x4 printed tile by 90 degrees as it would be more realistic to see it as you cycle on it.

The pedestrian crossings are currently in line with the bike lane, but that means that in order for pedestrians to use them they need to step diagonally off the pavement to get onto the crossing. They should be moved so that they line up with the pavement and not the bike lane. The bike place can then be next to the crossing. You could come up with some sort of design for a bike lane crossing a road, such as stripes of azure and road colour, so it looks like the pedestrian crossing, only in blue.

Came here to say the same thing, some of the crossings still line up with the sidewalk, but the ones like the one at 7:00 aren't moved back when the sidewalk was moved back, so I imagine the half road plates could move the crossing back and then have a solid blue bike lane, or the blue lines next to the white pedestrian lines is a cool idea. I've also seen cities where it would be solid blue, but with dotted white borders instead of solid white borders, to let drivers know they can turn there.

In the Netherlands bicycle lanes continue if they are apart from the street. If they're connected, then they end at the spot where they cross the road and start at the other side.

I’m not sure if you have it but I think you should make a red balloon coming out one of your drains on pop culture street. Love the drain design and the bike lanes look awesome! I agree with a couple people here though that say the printed bike plate should go the way the bikes are going so the cyclists can see it

Bike lanes in my city. End road. Then it's a walk lane. Then they start back up on the other side. Also they are the same color as the road ( either Black or Cement) with a white line and white writing saying bike lane.

Coming along with the bike lanes, just remember, if you lay clockwise ones, you also need to lay counter clockwise ones. So you are going to need to order quite a bit more. Also, will you employ a walking path ending brick, like you see with most such walking paths, when they lay next to a road? You already use something like it, for the sewer grills, but this way you can tie them all together.

Love the pop of colour in the city! In the Netherlands it's pretty common to continue the bike lane over a T-crossing. But there are also places where they just stop and have a traffic light. Either way, what I would suggest tho is to move the crossing next to the bike lane, as it is also common here that people on bike and on foot cross the road next to each other. Just Google for bike lanes in the Netherlands and you'll see ;)

I would put the crossings for people one roadplate in from the corner, since now they not in line with the sidewalk corner anymore. Not very safe :)

Speaking of colour, I do think a lot of your streets could use more jumpers for minifigures, you could breathe so much life and colour into the city by adding more figs and stories to the streets!

I was thinking for the end of the bike lane at 4:23 you could have one of those bike parking stalls, or a bike rental station. Could be a MOC of the 40526 Electric Scooter & Charger Station set, possibly with bikes instead of scooters.

Use 8x16 road plate + 8x16 pedestrian crossing instead of 16x16 road plate and you can continue with bike line across the street 😉

7:16 ok here I believe you should leave the right hand side open ended(no white plate on the turn) and make it square with the road plate. Then make the crosswalk azure. I’ve seen many cities in Washington, california, oregon, and Colorado use this when their bike lanes have to cross a street

Not in my city. It's a bike lane. Then walk crossing( which are just 2 white lines, I wish we had zebra lines. Expect 4 streets downtown that are old bricks from the original brick roads). Then back to bike line

Re: the crosswalk question at 7:19, I'd redo the street and push the crosswalk down that adjacent street. Since the bike lanes are now there, it wouldn't make sense to have a crosswalk inline with them, but you should still have them on the adjacent street (which would align with the actual sidewalk). Then I'd connect up the bike lanes.

I've almost finished the first building in my Lego City. My city is going to be a mix of Star Wars, Harry Potter, Disney, City, Ninjago, etc, so i decided to start with a canal-side cantina. Eventully the canal will lead into a lake with a public park full of ninjago temples around it

i have to say that you have ruined your city by this point. spending that much money on blue parts only to make bike lanes is really not a good investment. in my opinion this unusual update was unnecessary in any way so better tore a part the bike line or make sure to make it smaller and shorter. acknowledge that is ugly
