Bricksie, please don’t rush the process of building the Lego city. I’m sure a lot of people are commenting for you work faster or hurry up, but I think you shouldn’t worry about rushing the process. You were at max capacity in the basement for so long and all you could do was just keep moving things around. Don’t rush to get to the same point in the warehouse studio. I think you do a great job of getting a lot done. Don’t listen to the ones pushing you to do more faster. Keep doing what you do and just let it come together. Love watching the new build. Keep up the great work!

Yep light house at the end of the rocks and maybe a smaller set of wooden docks by the fishing shack as a pleasure boat marina.

It would actually make a LOT of sense to have the lighthouse be the end of the rock formation because that emphasizes what they are for in many minds. "Hazard here, watch out" type stuff.

Having a long path down the top of rock wall to the lighthouse (either with it connected or having a little bridge) would be pretty cool. Loving the city so far, it’s looking eeepppiicccc

These folks who keep telling you that you should be adding texture, vegetation and detail, etc, to the city haven't listened when you said that you are going to be working on it after you've built all the main stuff. I think how you are building it now is fine - carry on with the order with what you're doing now. It's better to get all the big stuff out of the way first.
@juanhuerta4965
@juanhuerta4965 Ай бұрын
Agreed plus i think the smaller details will be even better if he gets the main stuff out the way first because it’ll give him plenty of time to think of little details/Easter eggs in his Lego city as he goes. That’s probably the most efficient way to build out his city considering the size of it lol

Hey Jordan. That's a great looking cove. Idea for you. Where I live we have a man made rock wall just like that protecting our cruise ship harbour. We have a light house built right at the tip of the rock wall. If you worked the rock wall into the rock base of the light house I think that would look cool. Thank you for your consistent uploads.

Love the cove! The water looks so good. Was thinking the lighthouse looks kinda out of place. Maybe could work it into the cove rocks or even placed into the corner of the cove where it turns. But whatever you want! It looks great!

Absolutely connect that long manmade waterbreak to the lighthouse. That's extremely realistic. Most of the world's lighthouses are at the end of peninsulas, whether they are large or small, long or short. Yes, we see lots of pictures of lighthouses on rocky islands by themselves, but that's only because they are photogenic. The reality is that lighthouses are more accessible when connected to the landmass, even if it's only a tiny strip. It would be really cool and fairly realistic to add a footpath all the way across the top of the waterbreak. Like a "well worn path" that makes it obvious people walk along the rocks daily, either to work in the lighthouse, to fish, or just to explore. Put some vegetation on either side with some dark tan plate to represent dirt and sand.
@Darkthuggg
@Darkthuggg Ай бұрын
Like a few comments have said, I would connect the lighthouse to either the bend closest to the dock, or at the tip of the rock wall. Also, replace skate park with a beach volleyball court and the skate park can go by the residential or by the skyscrapers. 18:00

Sending positive thoughts for Mrs. Bricksie as she recovers. I have had the same surgery so I get it. After stitches were out, I used paper tape (can get at Walmart) to cover the incision during the day and frequently rubbed over the tape to reduce the raised skin that can come with scarring. Mine is nice and smooth so there is no irritating scar bump to rub against when I type. City is looking fantastic. Two ideas to take or leave: 1. The canal looks great with the murky looking water. Have you considered putting just a small amount of that at the base of the rock wall in the cove to give the impression of algae or even some sage green looking brick going up the rock wall just a teensy bit. 2. You often have video of the city from the ocean end where you can see the legs. I know they were discussed once about not matching where you put in the extra legs. Have you considered putting a quick stain wash on the lighter colored legs so they more closely match the other legs. You can't really see the other legs so only the front row would need to have this done. Keep doing what you do!!!

Strictly in terms of practicality, the build and storage area should all be downstairs in the extra room and the entryway. The display with all the bookcases should all be moved upstairs because how often will you actually look at them? Toss them all upstairs for the occasional visiting tour, and move your entire work area downstairs. Your body will thank you in the long run, and you can work way more efficiently and get things done sooner. You can dedicate the mezzanine solely for displaying and lounging with people. That will be more enjoyable as well for everyone.

The new cove is way better. I would keep the piers as are and move the smaller boats towards the cove and keep the bigger boats towards the other end. I also recommend moving the lighthouse to the end of the rock wall and integarate it in.

I find it amazing how much of a transition just the change in colors presents. I love the timelapse portion. It felt so cool to speed up the plate work but also to see how the colored parts make it so much more alive and you can appreciate the amount of detail you are providing to the Lego City. The "mistake" actually feels better for your cove look. Definitely gives the docks a little more needed breathing room.

Had a belated thought on a possible way to make it easier to maintain placement and orientation when moving plates upstairs to work on them. It was making number tiles (say with label maker and sticking different numbers on various spare 2x4 tiles) then temporarily sticking one near a corner of each plate you're about to move and snapping a quick photo. Upstairs you could reference the photo to make sure the plates were arranged and rotated so all the numbers were in the same spots. (After which you can pop those number tiles off and set aside until next time).

Glad we haven't heard any lighting talk as of late. Hope we don't see that for another six years. However, I would like to suggest you make the mansion your sole lit building, and perhaps keep it at home below a TV for ambient lighting. I support the medieval island, but also love the mansion so you could show it every once in a while at home

Bricksie, put the lighthouse at the opening to the cove, sure, less ways to drive a boat into it, but then it also is calmer in bad weather as well. Now as for the old fishing store, do you not have a fishing boat in your harbour? Relocate it. There, a free harbour place and you have a sheltered cove.

Hey man, I don’t comment a lot. But it’s all looking really awesome. Don’t feel too rushed or whatever by what people say in the comments. Take your time with it. LEGO is supposed to be enjoyable. Your LEGO city is going to be absolutely incredible. It already is incredible. Really great job and thank you for all the awesome videos. I think a lot of us who watch love the slow progress in each video. It’s kind of like when I build a Lego set - I don’t want to build it too quickly because I want to get the maximum enjoyment out of it so I try to take my time. All my best to your beautiful family as well.

Nice job, but the lighthouse is slightly too big compared to the rock structure imho. I woud make the rocks somehow wider, move the lighthouse half a baseplate away from the side of your table and half a baseplate to the right so you can connect to it to the rocks of the cove. Always fun to have a small boat being able to pass just in front of the lighthouse or some storytelling of a lost swimmer going around the lighthouse with a small rescue operation attached to it. Or a shark that has to be stopped entering the cove… lot’s of ideas - lots of possibilities!

I usually avoid commenting but I'm loving seeing the evolution of your Lego City, it looks awesome. I think my only (minor) criticism would be the transition from the canal to the sea; personally I would have had the water level of the canal 10 or so bricks lower so I could make some intricate bridge work but I know that's not feasible at the mo. Anywho, keep up the great work and apologies for the Panthers win; as a Finn I have always been a massive Oilers fan but also a Panthers fan, cos I grew up playing hockey with Jokinen and that generation of hockey players but I also remember when Edmonton won the Stanley Cup with Kurri and Tikkanen in 1990 :D

Loved the cove! In low angle we can see it's aligning with the rock wall in the back. It would be interesting if the cove rock line were a natural continuation of the mountain range, disappearing beneath the water. You could do some standalone rocks on the water too. The elevation of the mountain could start on the grey plate behind the cove, where the trains lines bifurcate, it would be a chance to build cool tunnels or rock escavations, and also give a natural border between city zoo and countryside. Keep up the good work! Thank you for your videos!

Really like how the cove came together! I LOVE the idea of the sliding the lighthouse over by 1 baseplate and connecting it to the rock. Since the idea is that the rock wall is "human made", what if you expanded on that idea and made the story that they created the rock wall as a path for the lighthouse keeper to walk to the light house? Could do a really cool "rock walkway" and could even add figs taking pictures and such (my wife and I did this exact thing on a trip we took to Big Sur!)

Hi Bricksie, you are doing a wonderful job on upgrading your new massive City. I don't think Lego are going to have enough parts for you to finish your city. 🤣 I'm not one to tell you what to do, I'm more of a "suggester". So my suggestions for the Cove area are a) Add a wooden wharf in front of the Old Fish Shack and b) have the area between the cove and wharf area for a Coast Guard Area, including a Helipad. Just some ideas. Keep Brickin.

But keep working. These kind of videos are the best of your channel.
