Jordan what you have done here in four months is absolutely unbelievable. Take your time, don’t blow every cent on brick orders right away, and just focus on the task you decide will be in front of you at any one time. Your core viewers are here for the long haul to see whatever you do next, and the longer it takes the more content we will have and be happy to watch! There is no ticking timer to get any one project done, we want you to enjoy your time and your family just as much as we want to see what you will build next.

You have inspired me to make my first lego moc after watching all your videos and watching every Lego city you have done grow and evolve truly has been inspirational. I need some advice though how to do a pitched industrial roof that is going to be 32 bricks wide and at a low pitch as im baffled with how to make it as its an old converted barn building . Any advice will be greatly appreciated Thankyou

Getting down to taking apart those mountains and plates from your old layout to gain parts for the new layout is a very smart idea. Get that task out of the way before you start rebuilding the new City layout. Love your videos on improvements to the studio and getting your Lego set up 😊

I absolutely agree the overall structure comes first before the nitty gritty details because doing the overall layout will help you determine if changes need to be made before you put too much work in any particular spot. It may not be a bad idea to mark out in some way where your mountain range is but at the same time, you have had so much experience on city layouts in constrained spaces I have no doubts on your ability to visualize spaces.

100% agree on your approach here. The details don't matter until the overall structure is in place; don't want to waste time and money on something that could be completely changed down the road. That being said, it could be nice to have small detailing projects now and then (for areas that you know are finalized) to give some more variety in the videos. The rock detailing for the cove in the last video was great.

The cove looks great! Have you considered using the lighthouse as the end cap for the strip of rocks? That would make sense and me it look less crowded where the lighthouse currently is.

Jordan, you are doing great with your project. So sit down calm down and get a breather in. Nobody expects you to have this city complete by next week, in a month or a year. So don’t worry about the white spaces. That’s part of the journey. Just do what any Lego fan does work with what you got and then you can spent the time to expand. Don’t worry if there are colourful backsides visible… the way you are running around feeling sorry for not having the parts you need to complete that table you need to remind yourself that this might as well take years to complete. Otherwise what are you going to do in the coming years when your table is already full. Don’t worry about the parts, just build what you can even if it is incomplete. AND just hang those bloody artworks already or that won’t happen until you finish the city!

Lighthouse water doesn't work. It's lighter up next to the deep blue water. I feel if you moved it over 1 full 12x12 plate and used that plate to transition up to dk blue waves crashing up onto rock and calmer waters on the other side..might look good. But something needs to happen. Looks Weird. And where's the fishing shack pier?? People fishing off it would look cool!!! There are fishing rods on bricklink 😊

Hi Bricksie. So pleased to see the UV window coverings done. I think muted sunight is nice, even if you have to adjust your camera settings. Here's a big thanks to Granny for helping Jose, so you can be in the Studio. I love all your ideas and plans for the City. The previous builds were customised for your old city. Now it is indeed a new era, and time for bigger and better City areas. You need to continue with whatever basics you can, until your HUGE order arrives in the Fall. Imagine how busy you'll be then!!

I love your idea for the castle diorama and the water in front of the shipping port looks AMAZING. Also, I think your new solution for the windows is a really good compromise between protecting your Lego and helping your sanity. Getting some sunlight and being able to see the day/night cycle is surprisingly important. Trust me, I’ve worked jobs where I couldn’t see the outside at all, no windows or anything, for twelve hours. It’s rough.

Love following the progress on this new layout! Please don’t stress it. This is your project and we all know it’s going to take a lot of time, a lot of trial and error, and a lot of parts! I would suggest making the cliff of the lighthouse act as the end of your man-made cove. Maybe with a small walkway for people to be able to visit it? Also, I know I’ve said it before, but integrating Rivendell into your mountain range and having the water flow down into Ninjago and the canal would be amazing!

My opinion is that adding a road verge will improve the residential area. (In Australia, we refer to these as "nature strips"). It basically grass in front of the walkway which adds a neighbourhood vibe. It takes away the greyish look. For the story telling, make sure to add a Minifigure mowing the grass.

Hia Jordan I 100% agree! In fact this is what I’ve been saying to myself all along, I just didn’t want to leave another comment because there has been way too many opinions left on here and I saw your frustration with all the comments after each and every one of your recent videos. I put it up there with your excitement for a new place and how big you can go with your newest layout. But you have have to remember three things: 1) At the end of the day this is your new layout and town. 2) I feel that you are going to be here for years at your new studio. Rome wasn’t built in one day. So don’t rush into you ideas because with all the excitement and some of your great ideas will get lost in the shuffle. 3) I have been a long time follower of you and you tend to come up with new layouts and change around your city a lot (in which I totally enjoy 😉) so nothing is set in stone and nothing is ever concrete. With all this said you have a new space/studio to expand your ideas and your lego. It seems that you are trying to adapt to your old layout and have confined your ideas to that smaller space. So yes please take a moment and break apart the zoo and expand it. Along with your mountains, even the snowy village. Try to lay out the lands to what you like then go back and develop those lands to your thoughts and ideas. You are very creative and have a very positive attitude, use these talents to your advantage. If you just concentrate on one little bit of your city you are boxing yourself in on that whole new layout. Have fun bud and this is not your old layout this is all new. Roughly layout your ideas, map it out sort of then expand your old city layout sets to match your new layout!

Definitely seperating the medieval sets is a great idea! I didnt know you had soo many castles. Also looks like you could get some of the current offerings on the Lego site as well to increase the the space used for that medieval theme. I think a cool idea would be to give each castle its own land or kingdom in this case and have them maybe at the 4 corners of your display. I just imagine Game of Thrones when I see all the different castles with different aesthetics and banners

Hey Bricksie, I have been following your LEGO city progression for a long time. I remember the start of the city layout in your basement! I have a suggestion for the progression of your current city. Your next step is to tear down all the parts of the city that have to be rebuilt or don't fit into the new city anymore. After that you will have a surplus of pieces that keep you busy building more modular base plates. However by making just base plates, there still is no real elevation happening. Maybe you could make some basic height changes that give the viewers a better understanding of how tall the mountain range will be or the snowy mountains. That way you also get a better feeling of the seclusion between the different parts of the city (Now your countryside still feels very connected to downtown area and even the amusement park). Just some ideas to keep in mind. Love the progress and we all live through you as we could only dream of building a city like yours!

Sounds like a good plan. With all the talk about parts shortages, how do you feel about buying unsorted "bulk" Lego? It's obviously not going to help with something like the water tiles, but it can fill in a lot of odds and ends and things that you might not know you need pretty cheaply. I did that to help kickstart my collection as an adult. Pros and cons for what you're doing?

Hmm, on the castle town island, just a suggestion, you should integrate in a castle style seaport, whether it’s the BDP series 4? seaport is up to you but it would benefit from not just the Viking port but also a castle one that integrates with the main castle city. I have seen some amazing castle layouts at conventions in half the space you have setup so you definitely have lots of opportunities for so much creativity here but it also depends on how much focus you want to put on it vs the beautiful city you are constructing. My personal projects get constrained in the same way of choosing what to focus on.

Question re: medieval island: would the idea be that this was an original fortress and the castles are "real" in the Lego world? (eg a fortified town hundreds of years old... in which case you could also add some ruins dotted throughout) Because what popped into my head would be to also put the amusement park on the island like the whole thing is a castle-theme park so you could have rides mixed in with castles, plus the Disney castle will fit right in with both. And then it could be serviced by a ferry dock crossing the water from the main city to the island. Plus, you could make one of the bigger castles into a themed hotel. Either way, it's gonna be cool.

Have you concidered moving your amusent park back a couple of baseplate (toward the future mountain/winter village)? This would free up 12 or so base plates in the rear corner for a small airport or race track. Maybe a small soccer or hockley statium with parking?
