Today we place the new Retro Bowling Alley modular building in the LEGO city. Of course, with that comes a complete overhaul of the modular layout, and I end up moving all of the modular buildings. I think it looks a lot better now! All of the open space has been consolidated so now I have more room for the Venetian Houses!

I think it’s better to one big empty “block” than multiple empty small places. Also the bowling alley seems like it would be next to a residential area as opposed to a downtown area

Now don't get mad, but when you come down the stairs and make the turn, the first thing you see is the biggest eye sore in my opinion. That being the boats/dock area. It's so blah compared to the rest of the city. It doesn't grab your attention and draw you in. The bright and colorful, full of action amusement park would have looked better there and the docks/beach area down at the other end by where you work. Just a thought. 🙂

Overall I love your current layout. I think you are fine with your current placement of both the old fishing shop and the lighthouse. In my opinion the bowling alley looks fantastic both where it is and as it is. Every bowling alley I’ve ever seen is a large flat single story building like this set. If you want your city to look more realistic then you need a mix of one, two, and three story buildings. They shouldn’t be height matched.

This layout is pretty epic, I like the changes. I've only got one suggestion... Maybe make your train station a metro station (The underground/subway), we don't have to see the subway, but the platform is a bit too short unless you run single train units. I love Lego but also model railways, so I have both thinking caps on. The city is awesome, I enjoy your videos.

You could put a park right behind the old fishing store. It would make it less awkward then having modulates right there, and it gives some more color right there. All my beaches have parks somewhere off to the side, so maybe you could put the park with a walkway to the beach

I feel that older white and red roof house is very close to the rail tracks going into the back wall...I mean, it's right there! I would be a very testy homeowner!!!

Bricksie you should leave the mini-modulars along the beach where they are, and add in an actual wooden boardwalk in front of them instead of the dark grey tiles. They'll look "beachier" and will probably make you feel better about including them in there. Also - the Parisian Restaurant looks weird beside the beach... I think it would make more sense if it was on a main city centre road instead. The Bowling Alley location looks great in its new location... it makes the most sense to be a double corner building, and beside the DIner makes sense. Once you "grow" it to a second storey, it'll look good. Also the Boutique Hotel should go on the beach. I suggest where the Parisian Restaurant is... it's got palm trees, it looks "beachy" with its colour scheme, and you could see wanting to stay by the beach with an Ocean View instead of beside the garage.

You could Swap the places of the old fishing store and the light house then put a tan baseplate behind the light house and create a path down the beach to the light house going up the rocks. This might be a better way to blend the light house in since it really should be much further away from shore.. 🤔

You know, the narrow sidewalk could be considered an alley that is many times found between buildings near the beach and waterfronts. Kind of a cozy feeling when walking around a resort area. 😊

I like the changes you made to the city and yes the bowling alley is good where it is now. I would not change the position of the light house or the old fishing shop. They look fine where they are now and the building behind it is tall enough to be seen even though the bottom part of it might have a smaller street in front of it. It is still visible enough because of its height. So good work!!! :)

My favourite part of the city is the beach. I think the old fishing store and the lighthouse look fine where they are. But I think I would scrap the zoo. And maybe have a bigger camp ground on a raised elevation with a path coming down to the beach. Also why don't you add a monorail that would look really cool. Keep up with good work I look forward to watching yr videos on a daily basis.

Move the old fishing store to the other end, I think that’s a surf shop? With the dock facing long way running parallel to edge of the table. Then place the surf shop where the fishing store used to be.

Good stuff as always. Love having my morning coffee and seeing what updates you have. Still holding out for the medieval scene. I am trying to work on one myself but having hard time finding inspiration. I made an L shaped village around my desk, lion knight castle on shelf one and then a shelf with a couple forestmen hideouts - OG build and a few rebrickables and I am having difficulty designing that area. I used your campground for some inspiration at least!

Firstly, it already sounds like you've talked yourself out of moving the fisherman's house so I don't have to, but that brings up something I've always wanted to see. I hope one day there will be a game where you can easily import custom models into a lego city and walk around it at minifig scale. This way creators like you can create virtual cities for viewers to walk around in. Obviously that would take a lot of time but we'll cross that bridge when the game gets made (I've been begging for it for about a decade and still nothing).

I know that's a project that is not a priority - but it would be awesome. By the way - when you do a MOC could you do a "How to" video on the best way to order parts?
