LEGO Classic Pirates Display at Bricks Cascade 2022

This is my LEGO Classic Pirates display at Bricks Cascade 2022 in Portland, Oregon. The entirety of the original wave (the "Bluecoat Era" from 1989-1991) is displayed along with the entire Islander sub-theme from 1994 and a selection of other sets from the classic theme (1989-1997). In addition a full lighting setup was added to the layout and numerous bits of collectable epherma were displayed. The layout also include informational signage celebrating the history of LEGO Classic Pirates.

Amazing collection and display! Me and my brother had a few of these sets when we were kids, was a golden age for themed Lego. El dorado fortress was my favourite! I wish I had it now. I never realised how big the boats were until seeing this :)

Nice setup. Am i correct that you made some parts of the setup yourself(moc)?

Yes, there are a few MOC elements in there, however by and large it is primarily the sets with just some slight modifications. 😊

@@pxchris it gives me hope to finaly put some things together(pirate sets and city sets) without the tought that it has to be a massive 50000 Piece moc, build from the grond up.😅

The parrot build is from a 1992 issue of Brick Kicks magazine - there are scans available for it on Eurobricks
