Oh my god.. This is so similar to a set they did around 10 years ago.. I think it was a cross-promotion with Discovery Channel, and it was a pretty big shuttle with folding landing gear and opening cargo bay. That was the first set I ever got that was over 300 pieces and I still have it mostly together.

Not sure if I will buy this set. A lot more thought could have went into the shuttle cockpit; although the payload bay is good, the arm is too weak to hold the satellite up.

A lovely well designed lego set indeed! Clever use of the bricks to get the right look and shape? Although, I would not waste £82 on buying it? I think lego sets are very over priced for what you get really. Something like this set should really cost say £30 max? Better to spend the money on buying the lego bricks and parts as loose lego from the online shop and then you get much more for the money and still build this and others too :) Happy Christmas to you at Brick Builder.

I think £80 is a perfectly reasonable price for such a large set, with a satalight, working landing gear, launch pad, small car and the shuttle with opening cargo doors and a the fuel pod with twin boosters

This was my first ever "advanced" lego set. I got mine second-hand from some cousin I didn't even know I had. Watching this brought back so many memories. Thank you. Also, a question: I noticed some differences between my model and yours: On mine, the rear landing gear are made mostly of Technic parts, while yours is made of bricks. Also on mine, the satellite and arm are connected via ratchet joints, while yours via basic clips. Was the set updated at some point in time?

The space shuttle discovery is just a model of the space shuttle. It includes no extra things. The shuttle expedition includes the boosters and all of that as well as the shuttle. On the space shuttle discovery the shuttle is bigger. On the shuttle expedition the shuttle is smaller. Hope this helps clear it up
