This is a LEGO fan review of the model; it is not intended to be an encyclopedic list of every known design feature of the full-scale Titanic itself. The niche of folks who already know such information don't need me to copy & paste it from a Wiki page, doubling the length of the video while boring the overwhelming majority of casual viewers. As always, this is just me talking about my thoughts about the set! Thank you for your understanding 👍

This is a nicely detailed model mate. I was very disappointed with The DeLorean for looking way too plastic when the real one is unpainted stainless steel but this looks remarkable.

The biggest inaccuracy is this Titanic being made of over 9000 pieces, however the real Titanic is two pieces.

I have seen the Titanic on display in the LEGO Store, next to the UCS AT-AT and I own the UCS Falcon, but even if they'd all cost the same, the Titanic is an absolute beauty that makes every UCS set look like a 4+ one. I think it's one of the best display/adult sets of all time.
@BK7132 жыл бұрын
This actually was the first Lego set that I built as an adult. I loved building it and it got me back in Lego after 40 plus years. I questioned whether I could justify spending $630 for it, but I’m glad that I did. I also particularly loved how they created the benches. Great review as always. I appreciate that you provide realistic reviews.

What intrigues me to buy the Lego Titanic is that when somebody gives a fan review, I sense his/her professionalism on how to review a product and lay out the honest feedback whether it is positive or negative. To me, I have bought almost all of my Lego sets because JANG provides excellent reviews regardless which Lego theme it is. Great review, Jang.

Aside from the spot where you can easily see the tan behind the dark red hull, and the blue pins, I think this is as well designed and made as it possibly could have been. I also think there’s not a whole lot to be said about the price tag. Expensive? Absolutely. Overpriced? Probably. But for someone who can spend that much on a Lego set, it likely doesn’t matter - and only then should you spend that much.
@MisterRubbernose2 жыл бұрын
Actually I don’t think it’s overpriced. The price per piece ratio ends up being roughly $0.06. That’s pretty awesome if you think about it. But I agree, phenomenal model. Crossing my fingers I’ll get it someday!

Very cool I like that you pointed out the 2x2 sloped grill piece for purposes of lego nostalgia as it brought back memories of the sonar transmitting cruiser, where the same part is actually placed in a similar location on the ship itself. Rock on & thanks 🙌
@antraxxslingshots2 жыл бұрын
22:22 I totally agree with you. What you might have forgotten is, that a Fan of the Ship, with a desire to get a perfect looking and on scale model, there might be better and cheaper versions, but this may very well be the only one he is abled to build on his own. Glue and paint needs a lot of extra tools and practise. Many people i know can eigther build Cobi ships, or none (Revell etc.) ... so they have to live with the "bricky" look, but at least they made the model themselfes. Very nice review, thanks a lot.

Looking at this set from a Lego Star Wars perspective, you really appreciate how smooth the sides of the Titanic are when comparing it to the Star Destroyer and SSD. Yes those ships have a lot of greebling on the actual movie models but also have large amount of space filled with flat tile spaces and I wish the Lego Counterparts could look as smooth as the Lego Titanic does.

It truly is an incredible set and build. Its certainly a display piece that even a non-LEGO person gravitates too. A light kit added to it would be the final touch. Its just the 4 dark red slope of the bottom hull that start the stern and bow that kill me with that gap.

For something this big and expensive and coming from Lego, I was expecting it to be accurate to the actual ship. Even though it looks impressive once completed, it has so many flaws. To point out a few, the forepeak is too squared. Union Jack flag on the bow shouldn't be there. White Star Line flag is missing. The windows on the hull are positioned wrong. I wonder if Lego will do a V2, downsize it and make it more accurate.

While the price makes sense, I cannot justify spending that much money on this set, as I am a college student... However, lego pirates of the Caribbean pirate ships go for insane amounts of money. I sold my Queen Anne's Revenge and The Lonely Mountain, gaining the retail price of this set. I can justify it if I'm basically swapping this set I love for two sets I do not need anymore. Now the only problem is that this set has been out of stock for months... but I'll have it one day.

It's obviously got some flaws, but I'm still impressed enough to seriously consider getting it. What I really want is some battleships at about this scale. Imagine how cool it would be to have maybe an Iowa, Warspite, Bismarck, and a Yamato. Mikasa would make a cool set too. As the last pre-dreadnought she's significant enough and the concrete that the actual ship is entombed in would make a perfect display stand that the ship could be lifted out of. Excuse my excessive enthusiasm. I've gotten myself a bit too excited at the thought of something that's probably not going to happen lol
