To Answer the Second Question in the Vid: I personally know a Bricks and Minifigs Owner and He's told me (I've learned from corporate) that they have a policy that they cannot ever buy NISB sets that are currently still in production, due to common cases of stealing and selling, but also to stay fair/loyal to the vendor that they get their NISB sets from. Any NISB sets that are retired or were a promo that is no longer available, are fair game. It makes sense and I'm sure most third party Lego stores have similar policies.

B&m gives you half value of NISB sets that are in production, so if you're looking to sell those, that's not a terrible place to go. Edit: I didn't completely read the comment. So, yeah, I went to a B&M and they gave me $25 store credit for the invisible hand, so yeah. I guess the policy is not brand wide. Maybe try a different location.

Regarding the Venator and Captain Rex being exclusive, my take on it was that he was exclusive at the time, not necessarily Lego saying he was always going to be exclusive, but I could be wrong.

I think, with the number of Captain Rex minifigures being taken from factories and resold on the open market, the idea of this being exclusive went out the window. Lego's step has wiped out profits from this trade in stolen minifigures, but it has also affected legitimate buyers.

I actually find a slightly dented box part of the LEGO collecting charm. When the brown cardboard is ripping and showing at the seams or there’s a noticeable crease from when the box got smushed, it’s all very nostalgic for me. It’s like, “This is what you see on a video, this is what you can expect on the store shelf.” That being said, I can’t excuse a bullet-like hole such as the one on your Gunship. I’m not a collector though, so maybe I have the privilege of not being too miffed about that.

60 gift card makes no sense - the value of the set wasnt based on the figure being 150 - the venator's price is on par with other lego star wars sets. People who sold the figure for 150, were the ones who were capable of getting the 60 - meaning they would be rewarded 210 and the people who actually bought the rex for 150 get screwed with a sexy rexy now worth 10 bucks. That refund never made sense.

the value of the set wasnt based on the figure having any value - but it does make sense to sooth nerds who felt like they got "robbed" of an exclusive figure having it go from a 1 off to a 15 dollar mini pack. but youre right that its weird to have someone that profited off the secondary market get a reimbursement theres no perfect solution except not to 1) have exclusive mini figs or at least b) gate keep them behind sets that cost multiple hundreds of dollars

Would you consider creating a list of sets and let your subscribers vote for their favourite and then everyone could just copy and paste the list when they review a lego set? 100% spot on with the trading in Lego and shops being concerned they were stolen. I recently had over 150 sets stolen from my storage unit worth close to 15k (part of a larger theft of many units). I was able to identify some being sold on Facebook Marketplace and after they were traced by police, it was found they were sold to a Comic Shop by the thief. While the owner of the shop claimed he didn't think they were stolen, the police leaned on him heavily knowing they were bought at a substantially less amount than retail where he gave up the name of the thief. He's also being investigated now. They did recover about 15-20 of them but the bulk was lost.

@@MandRproductions Thanks man. It was more of a random hit throughout the entire storage facility. He used a slim jim during the morning hours on a Sunday to fool an inside sensor so it thought there was a person on the inside waiting to exit which opened the door. He then went around to units that were single door, small units where the slide latch is visible between the framing and used a crowbar to pry it open enough to pull the door open which bent the slider. Cleverly, he then just closed all the doors he did this to so it didn't look like they were able to be opened and came back later that evening with a box truck after office hours and knew which units he wanted to pull contents from based on what he found inside. Luckily, the bulk of my collection was in a much larger unit that has a garage door that you can't do what he did but that unit was maxed out and I picked up a smaller one for overflow. He also hit multiple storage facilities so they pinned a number of different crimes on him and he's now on trial for grand larceny. Couple of lessons I learned to share to the followers: 1. Do not rent small storage units that have the single traditional door style entry. You can easily see the latch and if you really take a closer look, the metal frames are pretty flimsy. Only rent ones that have a garage door style door and make sure the locking mechanism is hidden and cannot be reached by tools. 2. My insurance company only covered 2500 of the loss due to a little known clause that noted "toys and collectible" have a different replacement value than other items. It was in a section that isn't even published online that had to be sent to me. I was a long time customer of my insurance company and they still treat you like a number where you're supposed to read every single amendment or fine print. Make sure you know what your insurance coverage is for these types of items, make sure it's replacement value and not what you paid, keep all receipts to show proof of purchase and know what type of incidents it covers (theft, fire, flood). I now have to go the legal route to see if I can recover more from the facility as well as the thief. 3. I would seriously consider 3rd party collection insurance that is more comprehensive than what either home owners or renters would cover. 4. Lastly, I learned from the detectives that these storage facilities do get vandalized fairly often so always check your stuff regularly and inspect your lock and door lock for any signs of tampering. Long response but hopefully it helps.

I have always, in every store ever, been asked to present my receipt while making a return. Maybe you return items by mailing them back to the vendor and avoid the store process altogether, and that’s why you’ve never been asked for a receipt? Idk, I live in a nice city that doesn’t have a big theft problem or anything but proof-of-purchase is the norm here. Otherwise, what’s to stop you from going to Walgreens, buying sale-items and then walking next door to your local pharmacy and demanding a return on the items at full-price? Or even just waiting until the items go off-sale at the same store and then returning it for full price?

That being said, how would you like a book of that magnitude to be organized. Sets by faction, era, or planet? Release date? With the sets for 2024 pretty much sorted out (except for the buildable creature), what do you think will be a good lineup at each price-point for 2025, especially as it will be the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith and the 10th anniversary of The Force Awakens?
