LEGO Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square is the continuation of the LEGO Group's nostalgic Castle theme revival. With architecture and minifigures designed to perfectly compliment offerings in 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle.
We had the opportunity to sit down with Henrik Rubin Saaby, the designer behind 10332 Medieval Town Square, to get his insight into how to make the perfect nostalgic LEGO set. Saaby has been with the LEGO Group for decades and is responsible for some of the most beloved sets of the past few decades, going back all the way to the iconic Adventurers theme.
In this interview, Saaby talked through his approach to worldbuilding within a LEGO set, to expanding what's been previously offered in retro-inspired Castle sets, and the long-awaited return of the LEGO goat.

Castle keeps coming up? They just sold out 30k copies of the Bricklink Castle in about 1hr. Seems to be very very popular. Plus we never really had a medieval village other than the 2009 set. I really hope they release a few more village sets and a Imperial/Pirate town.

Maybe it’s just me getting my hopes up because of how much I love the Adventures theme but hearing him talk about Johnny Thunder and saying he’d like to go back and revisit some of the sets really gets my hopes up for the future! Hopefully he was teasing things to come! I also really loved how certain stories weren’t able to be told this time but he’ll save them for future sets. Castles future will be a bright one I hope!

I think they did an amazing job with this one. The color scheme is so refreshing and the architecture is more village like compared to the old medieval market and I think it's a netter choice. Every time I look at this set, I get a tingly feeling which means there's really an X-Factor to it and they nailed it.

I like the question about who the market is for this. Because all the castle sets have been at the higher price ranges, and none in the mid range or cheapest scale in a long time outside of the GWPs. I would greatly appreciate some smaller sets to give us a break from the expensive ones for a while. Lion knights and Mountain Fortress, and this one have all been over $200. And two of those have almost been double that. Blacksmith was the only one less than $200 but still close. I would love some in the $50-$100 range, battlepacks, and polybags again!

I love this set and medieval Lego I have got all the other sets since the blacksmith and this set will pair nicely with it. Also it is good to get some more peasants to populate your medieval world.

Graet set... but LEgo has me trained now to never buy something unless it has a nostalgic GWP because if I buy it at open I wont have anything to buy when that is released and well... I guess I am not happy about that.

Lovely set, lovely minifigs, great price and pieces ... booo on the stickers - should you ever find yourself in a position to ask fun stuff again, ask why they didn't consider prints (at least for the obvious things like the building signs). - cost ? or do they really think people want stickers instead of prints ?

yeah, the worst ones are the window shutter stickers since they are outward facing and will not hold up over time as well as the indoor ones.
