I compared the LEGO Harry Potter 4840 The Burrow from 2010 to the 75980 Attack on the Burrow set from 2020! Both sets represent the same building/scene from Harry Potter movies however the builds look substantially different! The Minifigures have changed quite a bit in ten years as well so we take a look at them side by side!

The only thing I can think of is in the movie the lower roof section is much more muted in color. Much closer to the 2010 set. But I personally like the vibrant colors of 2020 much more.

I think the old minifigures are miles better overall. Sure you get two less figures at a FAR lower price tag, but the prints (except for Fenrir Greyback) are just so much better.

@@ratbat1072 Well, this is a case where the overall set is better, but that is a consistent fault with these videos overall. Especially seeing as how, since the desired ratio of $0.10 per piece has remained constant in LEGO for decades, it doesn't make any sense to adjust for inflation. (Also, I'm still not over how, when he compared the Imperial Landing Crafts from SW, he found that both minifigures and playability were better in the 2007 set, but still gave the point to 2018 for arbitrary reasons.)

@@MandRproductions That is a good question, I don't know what other side builds they could've included but it'd be cool to see some more things from the weasley's day to day life, or it could've removed the side builds altogether and included some more figures or lowered the price though you would lose a lot of playability. I'm not sure what I want exactly but something more unique would've been cool

Fun fact, the 2010 Ginny Weasley outfit is actually Order of the Phoenix, during the Battle of Department of Mysteries, and that 2020 Ginny Weasley outfit is from Half Blood Prince, but it is during the Kissing scene Harry and Ginny in the movie but ya both of them are inaccurate

I think for the price tag the minifigures are MILES better in 2010, especially given the higher quality of the prints a decade earlier (except for Fenrir Greyback). 2020 definitely has the better build though, there’s no denying that whatsoever.

One thing I like more about the 2010 set is the single roof colour, I'm thinking of doing that when I finally get the Burrow. I'm extremely new to collecting Lego, got my first set today!! The Great Hall set, so I don't know how easy, or costly, it is to get replacement bricks all in the same colour but I think I'd like to when I get the Burrow.

I personally prefer 2010 version, for me it is more special. The new one is maybe more movie accurate, however I really don't like all the colours and minifigures. The worst ones are undeniably Molly and Giny Weasley, who are one of my favourite characters. So for me, older one is definitely better.

I think the reason why the new one doesn't have so much printing in figures, is because at least for me, less print is nicer to watch. Of course I like details, but if there is too much going on, it just doesn't feel so nice.
