Some people are complaining about the fact that this piano can't play songs and you can't play sounds by pressing each key. But you got to take this into account: The LEGO Powered Up system is very expensive, and I think part of the reason why it is so expensive is because of the manufacturing costs. And due to the lack of space, mainly used by the LEGO keys, piano strings, hammers, and damper mechanisms, I don't think LEGO could put a distance or color sensor to make it play notes corresponding to the keys you are pressing.

@@cd9228 my thoughts on this is just that LEGO didn’t have an easy way to communicate exactly what they meant by playable. If they said, “It’s playable, in the sense that if you hit any note the phone detects it and plays the song” that would be really awkward and clunky in an advertisement. If they said it’s unplayable, a lot of people wouldn’t give it a second look, likely completely sweeping the genius functions of the piano under the rug because LEGO said it’s unplayable. Mine has serious struggles to move... and that is something that I am starting to hate... instead of just enjoying the music I am worried all the time to see stop the piano from moving.... lego should fix the app to give more intensity to the engine because the app in its present shape is too soft. That is my experience with my own piano... In addition I am really dissapointed with the engine design. The holes you use to conect the engine pass through and you can see the engine so the parts used to connect the engine with the piano can easly push the engine in a way that forces the engine to fail. Am I the only one with these issues? Because It amaze me how just two axis mechanism can fail in such epic way... If you want to struggle with the piano each time you want to enjoy it this piano is a good set. With all it works nice with faster songs and after adjusting all parts each time you want to enjoy it. And belive me my parts are as spaced between them as possible to avoid friction. With all I gave a good valoration to Lego... but... only because I know that they will not fix a shit and I really love this piano and the idea behind of it. For sure it works at the end... but problem is that it hardly works and for me it should work 100% of times with no problems. Anyway... I am a little concerned with Lego in past months because I am starting to notice a reduction in lego quality that worries me. For me this piano and bugatti one have terrible problems that should not be there having in mind the price of them... I explained all about the piano but... buggatti front suspension... U-U 2 sets with such problems is unseen for me until now, I am scared of starting to see worst products with such flaws. PD: And the keys can't be aligned perfectly after pushing the app button that sucks a little from an esthetic point of view. Specially when there is a function to aligne the keys.
@Unbrickme4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that. My keys in my piano don't get stuck, but my piano does have that issue where the keys don't align perfectly flat
@Bob-cy6rd4 жыл бұрын
Pull the keyboard out and look into the compartment. Start the piano playing watching the far left where the orange 1x2 piece rotates. Check to see if it's coming into contact with the little rubber 1x2 piece. I had the same problem and the assembly where that little rubber piece is mounted didn't seat properly which made that whole assembly lean toward the whole rotating axle. 5:53 for reference. The orange piece and the rubber piece should NOT be making contact with one another. I had to reseat that assembly straight up and down and this corrected the issue.
@Turambar37914 жыл бұрын
@@Bob-cy6rd I appreciate the detailed decription but that has nothing to do with my problem... my problem is the engine axis, that can't move freely through the hole, too much friction. With all it's curious you said me that today because just yesterday I did some things to avoid this friction, (I just placed the engine unatached to it's nominal position following the instructions, I put some space between the engine and the hole even if that means that the orange pin bricks can't do their job correctly.) In that way all works.... shit now I have a new problem I can't understand. Now all works perfectly, but when I used the app feature to aligne the keyboard, (that feature that while not leaving the keyboard correctly aligned at less worked perfectly nice from a technical point of view) now instead of stopping after its correct movement stops and moves again in the worng direction leaving the keys totally wrong. I don't know what is happening, did Lego updated the app to fuck it? That should not happen at all.
@Bob-cy6rd4 жыл бұрын
@@Turambar3791 I had that issue as well and to resolve, I had to back the bushing and gear off a bit to relieve tension on the axle from the motor. As far as the app backing it up up into the wrong position, that's a new one on me. I would check the alignment on the 1x5 gray Technic piece that stops the counterclockwise backup function. The rubber 1x2 piece below it should support it, but I can't see what yours is doing (obviously). As far as the app being updated, I don't know, but I'm still building my piano and I downloaded the app just yesterday. I am on the final keyboard assembly (right side). Once I get the keyboard in, I will do another check to make sure that there isn't too much tension. One thing I found on horizontal builds like the foundation is that I have a tendency to push too hard and "warp"/"bend" the whole assembly.
@Turambar37914 жыл бұрын
@@Bob-cy6rd Mine works nice now, but the app problem is there yet. Belive me all is correctly set. However I imagined a new design. I wrote to Lego, depending of their response, I will try to make a new and last adjustment and if that doesn't work I will use a design I have in mind that I think will solve the problems I have. If I must do that this will be my first customized set... and I am not sure if that is good or bad. Having the price of this set in mind, this set should work as intended without any surprise.

Probably because this model cannot do the main function of a piano...that is, be played like a piano.
