LYRICS: ------------------------- "Mama, Papa Brickolini" vocals and composition by Monica Pasqual Mama, Papa Brickolini Will not cook you no linguine Don't you know we specialize In one thing, that's the pizza pie If you think the family's ready For a plate of good spaghetti Sorry if it makes you cry But all we've got is pizza pie There's nothing wrong with enchiladas Some people like pickles and hot dogs But you never get to try them When you live on LEGO Island Mama, Papa Brickolini Always say you look so skinny Won't you try the pepperoni Makes you nice and roly-poly Some people like lots of bagels Others want chow mein at the table But you never get to try them When you live on LEGO Island Mama, Papa Brickolini Go to bed and wake still dreaming All about the reasons why The world could live on pizza pie Really, there's no reason why The world shouldn't live on pizza pie ------------------------- "Brick by Brick" vocals: Kathleen Enright piano: Henry Salvia guitar: Garth Webber You can build a buggy, drive a big tow truck You can paint a jet ski yellow like a duck Master of the trannieverse, there ain't no trick You just gotta do it brick by brick! Brick by brick, tock by tick No matter how thin, no matter how thick Papa told Mama, and Laura told Nick You can move a mountain if you do it brick by brick! Faster than a skateboard, bigger than a bike Louder than a DJ scratching all night Pedal to the metal, heck’a LEGO squeal You're in the driver's seat when you're behind the wheel! Brick by brick, tock by tick No matter how thin, no matter how thick Papa told Mama, and Laura told Nick You can move a mountain if you do it brick by brick! Are you game, boy? It's a riot, girl! Click on the stick, let's go for a whirl You're gonna cruise the Island, there's somethin' you should know When you block the road, you're gonna get towed! Brick by brick, tock by tick No matter how thin, no matter how thick Papa told Mama, and Laura told Nick You can build a mountain if you do it brick by brick! I built a cool machine, red, yellow, and black There ain't no doodad this device lacks All around the island, we're goin’ round the bend Break it down, baby, brick it up again! Brick by brick, tock by tick No matter how thin, no matter how thick Papa told Mama, and Laura told Nick You can move a mountain, you can move a mountain, You can move a mountain if you do it brick by brick! ------------------------- "The Brickster" (aka "Your Bricks Are Toast") vocals/guitar: Bob Conlon guitar: Chris Carroll, bass guitar: Steve Faine Drums: Chris Stark He wakes up and breaks up the scene Some Legos, they think that he's keen But Pepper, he knows If the Brickster catches you Your bricks are toast Who's gonna make up his mind To break all your bricks all the time The Brickster, you see Is tearin' up this world For you and me The Brickster will break All that you make And Pepper will fight all those fiends For you and me Your power he's taken away Without it you don't get to play He's brickless, I know If he catches up with you Your bricks are toast The Brickster will break All that you make And Pepper will fight all those fiends For you and me The Brickster, you see Is tearing up this world For you and me And Pepper, he knows If the Brickster catches you Your bricks are toast ------------------------- "Think I'm Gonna Build Me a Bridge Today" vocals and composition by Annie Wallis I Think I'm gonna build a bridge today I think I'm gonna build it in a brand new way I'll build a line of toll booths To smile and wave you on your way And nobody has to pay I think I'll build that bridge today I think I'm gonna to build a ski today Take all my favourite people on a spree today We'll jet around the island And watch the sun set on the bay And look for the Milky Way I think I'll build that ski today I think I'll build a beach house or a bungalow A cabin in the mountains for my uncle Joe A little red convertible to cruise around You know the Lego Island is my kinda town! Thinking maybe for a lark today I'll build me a gazebo in the park today I'll stop and smell the roses Until the band begins to play We'll make it a holiday I think I'll build it all today Well I might build a castle with a catacomb And when I'm done with that, well maybe, I'll build Rome! So thankful for my parents letting me play this. My whole world was Legos ages 0 - 12 and I greatly attribute any imaginative success, creativity, natural inclination toward physics problems or any other critical cognitive thinking to playing with Legos as a kid throughout the entire 1990s. Parents, let your kids do the same. The world needs more imagination, a major shout out to Wes Jenkin's and the fun, imagination, and creativity he integrated into the Lego world of kids' imaginations through this game in the 1990s. What a collection of bangers, being a big LEGO media fan, why did I never listen to this before now?
@apolonioromero49516 жыл бұрын
I used to think it was disappointing how the entire soundtrack was heavily compressed and only presented in mono. I believed that all music needs to be in high resolution in order for it to good enough for me. I then realized that the low fidelity audio this game has it actually quite special to me. It gives it character, personality, and reminds of how the 1990s were. I think that is reason why the music genre, Vaporwave, was created.
@Ringtail6 жыл бұрын
I still would've liked a soundtrack release of this or something to preserve higher quality versions of anything besides the Torpedoes and Polkacide tracks. Never happened with any Lego games and too late for a good chunk of the music from this game now, so whatever. This is the authentic 1997 experience I guess.
@Ringtail6 жыл бұрын
i didnt see this comment because youtube flagged it as spam? how the fuck do i get it to stop doing that I used a tool called lierip to rip the contents of jukebox.si and world.wb to get the raw audio files. they're on rock raiders united, though the state of the lego island tools is kinda messy and unorganized compared to other game tools.
@RyDawg965 жыл бұрын
Reason why they had to use so much compression is due to the amount of audio the game had. Red book audio can only handle up to 80 minutes, which is almost as long as this entire video. Not only did they have to include the music, but also the game data as well as the voice acting which is actually longer than the games music. Also, red book audio would have not worked well with the games over world, as the constantly changing tracks would have resulted in long pauses without the amount of compression used. Would be nice though if Lego Island did get a remaster or remake with full stereo CD quality sound since modern audio formats in games can handle beyond that.

@@RyDawg96 According to the composer of the music, the original master tapes of all the music were lost in a house boat accident. Link: projectisland.org/music/ Some of the music may be incomplete or in bad quality, but it's still far better than the compressed files on the orginal CD. @Ringtail2 жыл бұрын
The Polkacide music wasn't made for this game, it was licensed from one of their albums. Same with the Torpedoes music, except for Lucky You which uses a prototype version. Even if it was original, I don't understand why I keep seeing people saying that video game musicians "didn't need to go that hard". That's what they were hired to do, some may go more over the top than others but usually they're probably not going to half ass it (unless they weren't getting payed enough to care, or didn't know what they were doing).

Hmm it doesn't sound quite the same as the compressed version when I apply the same effects to it, some of the horn instruments are a lot louder and the main melody instrument at the start has a different tone emphasis of some sort. Silicon Dreams also had a hand in other Lego games from 2001 and 2002. They made Soccer Mania, they also worked in part with Attention to Detail on Lego Racers 2 and I think they also made Island Xtreme Stunts, even though the soundtrack in that game tried to feel more like the original but with early 00s style rock, pop and instrumental music, instead of a mixture of 80s and 90s synth pop, rock and classic themed songs. Also that pop song: Royal is a rip-off of one of Island Xtreme Stunts songs, but obviously that was just a coincidence!

it does! although youll have to do a bit of work to get it running properly, as just launching the executable wont work. you need to check that the combatibility properties of the executables are at windows xp service pack 2 or lower, and then copy the files from the script folder in the cd directory into the installation directory's script folder located in the lego island folder in "program files x86". then i think you need to open the config executable and set the colour settings to RGB otherwise the textures will be fucked up. this is just what i remember from the rockraiders forum, so i might have gotten some details wrong. but you should look on there yourself because its very useful.
