As a person who had one of those Knex roller coasters I was hoping this would be more of a stripped down roller coaster that focused on just the roller coaster elements instead of having the set be half theming half roller coaster. Plus having a purely coaster dedicated set would also help out the enthusiasts by getting a better bang for their buck on coaster-specific pieces.

I think at some point, the huge size of a set loses its appeal when it becomes too large. For sure its impressive to see, but kind of excessive to own. The way this coaster moves is quite satisfying to watch though and does justify the height, although I would still prefer more track than supporting structure. Speaking of track, it's very nice how they included so many 'spares' in this set for alternate builds. I really like a lot of the little design decisions in recent sets such as this one, too bad the prices are going way up.

I do believe they kinda have "little choice" for sets like this one. If the rail cars are minifig-scaled, then they need a certain amount of momentum to clear the track. And to clear that track, you will need a certain height to make it work. I am going to buy it, even though I have no space for it right now! :D

Yes I know I probably don’t have any space. But you know what they say: where there’s a will, there’s a way (or at least, they say that in The Netherlands) and in this case: where there’s a will, there’s SPAAAAACE. 6-16-22 Tiago, I was wondering something. So, I know that certain Lego MOC Builders tend to have signature styles that they make their builds in. Whether that be a more simplistic, smaller build style (like the Lego Transformer creator IXRollOutIX), Lego Sculptors (like Nathan Sawaya, the creator of the book and travelling exhibit "The Art of the Brick"), or the Many People who take Creator 3-in-1 Sets and either combine multiples of the same 3-in-1 Set or take Singular 3-in-1 Sets and show potential alternate builds for those 3-in-1 Sets. I am wondering whether the Official Lego Designers tend to have their own signature styles which they tend to use whenever they design a official Lego set. Like, even without knowing which Lego Designer made a new Set, a fellow designer and/or former designer could figure out (or at least have somewhat of a vague clue) which other designer designed that set. What would you say are the signature styles of different Official Lego Designers?
@ministig63ace2 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing too. It'd be amazing to see
@TiagoCatarino2 жыл бұрын
I can’t pinpoint what it was, probably the smart angles and weird and unexpected connections, but a few pages in the Titanic and I correctly guessed the designer was Mike Psiaki. but you have to remember that they need that 400$ for employees, engineers (i dont know what to call them but those who make the functionality of the ride), another employee that makes the book to show how it is made step by step, designers to make it look better and other LEGO sets also cost extra money for expensive licensing with more reasons for the high price which sounds reasonable if you know why they cost that much

I doubt one thing in your video: The mechanism does not always work!!! There are a lot of recorded cases when the lift is not lifted high enough for the coaster to jump over and then it all crushes down when the lift is running down. Also there is a lot of stress pulling on the chain, and the chain is out of plastic so it will be stretched out, and there are also already recorded cases where the hole mechanism does not work because some pieces of the chain to wide or loose... So overall for that price it really does not work and is to expensive. For 400 € plus 70 € for the engine you should expect that the set is stable and could possibly run for a long time in your own entertainment park... But it probably won't last a week... And you then need a new lego sets (emergency rescue, construction lawyers, morque for the dead visitors, legal affair manager set...)
