I think the choice to “lighten” the pieces around The Eye to give it a forced glow was absolutely genius. It works so well and gives so much life to the build

Honestly every single floor of this set is awesome with alll the little details and references! The minifgures while a smaller amount is still awesome with Sauron and the awesome armour!! Now we need Saruman and helms deep next!!!

They should have printed the mentally and physically destroyed versions of Sam and Frodo from the scenes in Mordor in the LOTR videogame, the scruffy look on the face, the no sleep marks, and the outfits worn out, that and also the printed armor they use in that scene, to either recreate the tossing of the ring without the armor, or putting the whole armor and helmets, to be in disguise

Well there was a Bag-End set and Erebor set with Smaug when The Hobbit movies came out. Eventually Lego might remake them in miniature "Architect" style. But I think they will have other priorities like locations we've never seen before : Edoras, Minas Tirith, the Argonath, a buildable Oliphant, just to name a few

I have been waiting for this set for years. The build looks amazing, the minifigs look amazing, everything is perfect. I just don't see the point of the little secrets like the spider, I will for sure put it on the exterior. The brown bricks to make the impression the lava or the eye is glowing is really clever, I hope the demarcation is not too brutal The only thing we need now are battle packs of orcs, to build an army coming out of Barad Dur. Also, I did some math in my room to reorganize all my shelves so I can still expose my legos that are already exposed aswell as Barad Dur, I hope it will work lmao

The Shire being shown burning in the palantír is a reference to the book. In the book Saruman the White (now Saruman of many colours) is still alive by the time the ring is destroyed, and after deceiving Radagast the Brown he takes his remaining Uruk Hai and enslaves the shire. There's a whole hobbit rebellion and everything and eventually Saruman is betrayed by wormtongue simular to the movie. The chapter is called the scouring of the Shire.

Something I'm SO used to is the brown orcs being Mordor Orcs and the green ones being Moria Orcs. I have the old Lord of the Rings LEGO sets to thank for that.

I don't like the gradient effect on the middle section. I also hate how those Blue plates shine through on the top section which you pointed out. Then there's the reused Frodo and Sam minifigures, which should have been updated. Overall this set is a 8.5/10 and I hope to own it someday, but it has some issues.

Seen that people had issues with big wasted space orc dinning area. I like that its fitting with "Meats back on the menu!" joke. Its canon in the movie that orc know what a menu is, so its only fitting that they have a big restaurant space and orc chef XD

Aside from the blue tiles (and price) my only real complaint with this set is Gothmog. I think they should have given him a unique lame arm and molded head, but otherwise I think the set is another home run 👍

There will be a Great Trio: 1 - Rivendell, where the Fellowship of the Ring was born. 2 - Barad Dur as one of the Two Towers. 3 - Minas Tirith, where the Return of the King took place.

While I can’t afford this set & would have nowhere to put it if I could, I do really want to just get that Sauron minifigure by itself when it appears on BrickLink. Yes it’s gonna be like $50 on BrickLink but at least that’s way cheaper than buying a whole massive flagship titan set I’m not interested in, especially when my budget could be spent elsewhere this June like with the new Ninjago, Jurassic World, & Star Wars set releases.

The fact we have finally gotten Sauron in Lego Form is insane and it's like a dream come true, Sauron is my favorite Middle Earth Villain, I'd love to see a Sauron Movie, Lego Dimensions should have released Sauron years ago. I love the Interior inside his Tower,(we've never seen inside his Tower to see it for the first time is a treat) The Eye of Sauron is accurate, it's almost an exact replica, my only negative is they could have put in a few more characters in this masterpiece of a set like: 1. Islidur (Aragon's Ancestor) 2. Elendil (The King of Gondor in the Second Age and Islidur's Father) 3. Second Age Elrond 4. Gil-Galad 5. Second Age Last Alliance Elf Soldier (x2) 6. Second Age Last Alliance Gondor Soldier (x2) 7. A few Easterling Warriors (x3) (Third Age) 8. The Witch-King I'd love to see Minas Tirith/Gondor next, The Kingdom of Rohan, The Village of Bree and Minas Morgal (The Ringwraiths's City) next, if you're thinking of building an Arkham Asylum Moc, put Sauron and The Phantom Zone Criminals from The Lego Batman Movie in as Displaced Inmates 😅
