LEGO Marvel Super Heroes GROOT figures compared

*KEYCHAIN:* Sorry, I can't consider a keychain, plush, watch, sticker, or other gear not meant to be built & played with amongst other LEGO toys to be a figure. So on February 27th James Gunn, director of both GoTG movies, reaffirmed his position that the Groot of the first movie literally died, and baby/teen Groot if the second movie is a new individual he calls a "son." His tweet is just now making the rounds on various news websites & such and I hadn't heard about it when I recorded this video. A lot of people (especially those with any knowledge of biology) take issue with this glib proclamation. As a former plant biology major I have to stand firmly in the "he's grown from original tissue with original cellular nuclear material via mitotic processes, thus it's the same organism, i.e. the same Groot" camp. Then again, Groot is no simple woody Earth plant, he's a fantasy intelligent, sentient, mobile alien shapeshifter that can even say five (not three) words, so it's kind of a moot point, though fun to argue regardless 😆 Edit: I like some commenters' view that focuses more on the memories of Groot. Even if the new Groot is the same continuously living organism as the original, his mental development & life experiences & memories (so far as we can assume, so far) are all fresh, making the new, from a human analogue point of view, effectively a new "person."

I wish they'd do a Groot in the style of Woody from the Toy Story sets, where he had longer legs and longer arms, but was otherwise a standard minifigure. That'd be pretty perfect.

Big Groot is meant to play with and UCS is meant to look at. I built my own UCS Hulkbuster. A fully poseable, big fat fighting machine

I liked the original groot as you can add on to him, with extra plant and vine parts. I think the teenage Groot could’ve used some leg and arm printing.

I really wish that we could've gotten a Groot figure, like what we just got for teenage Groot, with the original Guardians of the Galaxy sets. Though, to make it more accurate, they should have it with the longer arm and leg moulds that they had for the old Woody (no pun intended) minifigures. Perhaps we'll someday get him as a polybag.

If they do a new adult Groot, I hope it's in better scale. I skipped the first one because it was son wonky. In the lineup from the original movie and trailer, Drax came up to Groot's chin. His torso was not that much larger either - mostly he had a tall head and long limbs. And his size fluctuated somewhat, but once again that was mostly his limbs. The LEGO version looks to be around 3.5x the size of a minifigure. (Rocket was way out of scale as well, but I think that was a good decision. The alternative would be a special, solid piece like Baby Groot, which just wouldn't work for Rocket.) Groot really should have been an extra tall minifigure. One of the fake brands (which I will not name) got it right by using the Woody type legs. (That's just right on so many levels. So many.) But I refuse to support the companies that make fake LEGO. I'm not sure why LEGO didn't go that route. I remember reading that there was a deal where Disney wouldn't allow them to use those legs outside of Toy Story - but you'd think they would be down with using them for other Disney properties. Possibly the decision was based on playability, and I can see child-me loving ridiculously huge Groot.

Yes, the set with the Gauntlet itself only includes the Reality Stone, the rest can be added or taken away any way you wish

There is one infinity stone per set and they have to be added to make a full gauntlet. The base gauntlet in the set that includes thanos only has one stone.

Actually, the grout in infinity war is Adolescent groot. It’s around the preteen ages, so there is a slim possibility that the teen groot appears in infinity war two depending on the time jump, and he may have a Chance of becoming full grown in the third GOTL film, if not, perhaps in the fourth.
