I'm a little torn on this one
On one hand, I'm trying new things. Slightly different format, a different lighting style. But it all feels uncohesive and I see less of my vision in this episode. I guess maybe I need a long hard think about the visual style I'm trying to convey.
On the subject of the toy, I kinda wasn't too enthused to do this review. Lego is a bit out of my wheel house; I really mostly did this video because I didn't have anything else to do and it was just convenient that it was coming out when it did.
I don't even like Lego that much honestly. They canceled the Osprey and that did them in for me. They pander to everyone else, but I can't have my super cool VTOL plane cause its "military adjacent".

I can attest that the lack of knees is definitely intentional. The vast majority of Lego mechs no longer have them due to stability concerns. Probably why the people who love this kit the most tend to be Lego purists vs TF collectors. But I’m both so I’m good either way.

This is why I'm in favor of smaller, maybe less detailed sets of transformers with better articulation so that they wouldn't also be completely oversized compared to the minifigs. bonus points if they also transform.

Preach about them minifigs PREACH. You've opened my eyes to solving the general negativity around the axe. Gotta love how all promotional work and packaging feature the stickers that are supposed to go on his legs upside down. Knees like the Titan Mech has are still so rare these days, so Optimus not having them does not surprise me. You're outdoing so many seasoned LEGO reviewers with the quality of this review.

I shelled out $220 CAD for this guy and I absolutely love it. Sure it might just be a branded novelty to reach a wider market, but it still has great qualities. It dwarfs anything I currently own, sticks out on my display, and overall is a great set.

I have been wanting this set ever since I was a little kid and new that Lego and Transfomers were a thing....Hopefully since they have done this and brought back Lego Indiana Jones they could bring back LEGO SpongeBob and Lego Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

There is a (idk the official lego term) plus shaped slot in where the feet are in vehicle mode. If you're ok with it just kinda. Sticking upwards. You can put the energon axe there.

knees, i understandm and your points do highlight legos understanding and forsight, but when it comes to transformers, one of my favorite things is to put them into fantastical or ridiculous poses. Losing that just, thats a huge miss for me.

Speaking of prestige value of a brand, i believe Lego separated the creator expert line into 2: the first being mostly about lego orginal sets and the other called "icons" which as the name suggests is centered around pop culture or recognizable stuff made into lego especially if its 18+, the better examples of this are the big star wars ships, the helmet replicas, the mjolnir and lightsaber replicas, the NES and Atari 2600 replicas, the Super Mario question block with Mario 64 based dioramas and the upcoming buildable bowser figure.
