This video feels oddly like a result of sunk cost fallacy where it took so much work to try and make it even slightly playable it ended up feeling like a video was required.

What do you mean forgotten? I've been searching about to replay it for a while now. Mostly because being in 1st person view of a Raider allows you to control them directly, turning the game from RTS into semi-good singleplayer (you can't pick up objects, but can drill walls and drive vehicles).
