Great video as always, Jang! A few (LOTS!) notes on the minifigs you might be interested in, in the order they appear: Corn Cob Guy--according to this Brickset article: brickset.com/article/27423/review-series-17-costumed-characters, the plain green torso is uncommon. Love that 'stache! Gourmet Chef--as TarozBricks (kzbin.info/door/Gnq6uVD3lq6h1UIIuRTZiA ) points out, her hair is pretty similar to Police Commissioner Barbara Gordon (from the CMF, not the sets), but not too much. Connoseiur--I find this funny. Luckily, from what I hear, actual French people find him funny, too, being the stereotype of a Frenchman. In fact, I found it hilarious that a French Flickr member made an almost identical minifig way back in 2014! Here it is: www.flickr.com/photos/126493865@N07/15633969748/ Also, it seems the minifig was first conceptualized within LEGO in 2010, as it is one of Alexander Boudon's concept figs (he now works for LEGO; you can see him in the credits of the Nexo Knights and Chima TV shows): 2.bp.blogspot.com/_IV9W5sKJdTg/TGWBNeu5VDI/AAAAAAAAASg/_OnWFmJqCBU/s1600/CharacterDesign09.jpg His concept art is a joy to go through; I HIGHLY suggest you go through his two blogs; he came up with many of the CMF ideas, the Monster Fighters theme, and a "Mythology" theme that I want SO BAD: alexandreboudonbillund2010.blogspot.com & alexlegoapplication2010.blogspot.com Battle Dwarf--the serpent on his right arm continues onto his chest. Retro Spaceman--his space gun seems very unnecessary to me. The other one is very similar but fits far better into the LEGO system. Still, I'm sure many will like it. Here's a comparison between the two: www.flickr.com/photos/brothers-brick/33828216185/in/dateposted/ Veterinarian--I like that they're finally introducing more animals into the regular, more angular LEGO style, as Friends got many new animals, but they have a distinct, rounded, almost chibi style to them. I think the biggest gap now is the lack of a regular squirrel. We got an adult bunny in Friends, as well as the baby ones, so maybe we'll get baby rabbits in the regular LEGO style. However, the baby Friends ones could pass with different printing, given their size. But we've already gotten a chihuahua, lobster (YES!), pug, penguin, and bunny recently (with the baby ape, camel, and ostrich a little earlier), so I'm happy! Circus Strongman--same as the Retro Spaceman, his accessory seems very unnecessary to me. I would have liked it far more if they had printed the regular balljoint piece. And they have, the most similar of which is the "8" ball in the TLBM Killer Croc Monster Truck: img.bricklink.com/ItemImage/PL/32474pb09.png Roman Gladiator--I wish SO MUCH that he came with a net like here: 3.bp.blogspot.com/-zynb-pDaDa4/T0wAsAfbR-I/AAAAAAAAABY/Xb... (it's from a failed Cuusoo project, from when it was called Cuusoo) 'Cause Retiarii had nets! s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/9c/58/fa/9c58fa1d9d49f2... Unless, is there a gladiator class I'm forgetting about, that had tridents, but no nets? I suppose I can just use a regular LEGO net with him, though. And I'm still gonna get him, though; he's pretty cool! Also, I'm a HUGE Greco-Roman nerd, so it's a must-have. :P Butterfly Girl--her tri-flower-stem piece was actually first introduced in the S 7 Bride: brickset.com/sets/8831-4/Bride Surfer Dude--love that surfboard! I won't get him (unless as a gift), but it's cute. Highwayman--I'll quote "chickensuitgal" from Brickset for this (from this article: brickset.com/article/27562/series-17-teaser-video ): "Between the review embargoes and the silhouette previewed on the back of the TLBM CMF leaflet, it's pretty clear now that it's all part of a fun campaign to add a little more "mystery" to these mystery blind bags that aren't much of a mystery if you know how to feel them. And frankly, I think it's great. It creates a lot of hype with very little risk (other than a few sour AFOLs, what else is new). The mystery plus the stealing element create conflict, and conflict creates a story, and kids are more inclined to get excited about toys if there's a story to them (barebones as it may be). LEGO has made that part of their CMF advertising for a while now, explicitly evidenced with the "A Story In Every Bag" tagline from the Series 13 ads from a few years back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqW4dYx6g56pqbM At first it didn't make any sense why there was such a big deal over *this* particular minifig being kept a secret, but I appreciate that this isn't a Mr. Gold situation where the minifig is so rare and the chances of finding it are so low that it might as well not even be included in the set at all. I find myself catching the hype and wanting to seek out the Highwayman where I previously wrote him off. Sure he's 5 to a box, but he feels a little more "special" now." Elf Girl--my little sisters are definitely going to get this one! Very, very nice. Rocket Boy--lovely treat for the older fans, with the Classic Space torso. For anyone interested to see how it'll look on an astronaut, here ya go: www.flickr.com/photos/brothers-brick/33828218005/in/dateposted/ It really doesn't bug me, but it might have been a bit more accurate to either have the flag's plastic in blue or make the blue printing look more like crayon/marker. I think of this because blue backgrounds were always a struggle to draw as a kid. :P Still, he could have cut it out of paper. Yuppie--only thing I can think of is that the copper printing on the glasses seems to be the darker painted shade, Copper, Drum Lacquered (brickset.com/parts/colour-Copper-Drum-Lacquered [maybe a bit less coarse, like on the S 12 Hun's helmet, the best images of which I could find are these: thumbs.ebaystatic.com/images/g/8eQAAOSwBahVcyTC/s-l225.jpg & www.flickr.com/photos/whitefang_eurobricks/14830862590/ ), which is closer to the old copper (brickset.com/parts/colour-Copper ) than the other drum lacquered copper, which is closer to the new copper, Copper Metallic (brickset.com/parts/colour-Copper-Metallic ). That "other" one is actually classified as Warm Gold, Drum Lacquered / Gold Metalized / Gold Laquered. Here's the confusing thing. Officially, as of LEGO's current database, that color only encompasses a specific shade, which you can see here: brickset.com/parts/colour-Warm-Gold-Drum-Lacquered-Gold-Metalized-Gold-Laquered However, Bricklink's database encompasses many other shades (you can see for yourself in this list: www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&colorPart=65 [do note that many of the parts pictured are not in the proper color, but, rather, white, brown, etc.]). The shade I'm specifically referencing is that which is used on the S 5 Gladiator's helmet, which you can see is different than the "normal" shade in the pic (compared to the Spartan helmet): i.ytimg.com/vi/-wQsc89UeT8/maxresdefault.jpg Dance Instructor--She'll match very well with the S 7 Rocker Girl (though from different eras): brickset.com/sets/8831-15/Rocker-Girl Hotdog Man--his face would work very well as a pre or post-braces S 12 Pizza Delivery Man: brickset.com/sets/71007-11/Pizza-Delivery-Man (they even put "Man" in his name, too!)

I think the Highwayman is just to get more people to buy it since they want to get a mystery figure. It is a good marketing approach, and I hope they do it with the other series as well. It just brings you a surprise when you get the figure.

Very interesting bunch of minifigs, but I got to admit, that Rocket Boy, quite precious, made me smile for sure! Also liked the Butterfly Girl, the "Miami Vice" guy with the cell phone, the dance instructor with her crazy hair, they all look very nice.

The Corn Guy always makes me think of a Cow & Chicken clip use to play all the time. The devil guy opened a dry cleaning place to try and figure out who Super Cow is but gets flooded with hero costumes. He pulls one from the pile and reads the name on it, "Corn Cobb Man? There's a lot of sick people in this town." But I really love the new French Bulldog piece in this. Always nice to get another dog.

I love the series! Since buying these figures in bulk is expensive, I never actually bought many. For that reason, I am glad that they are repeating the theme because I never really got the "original" mini figures, I am just glad they are remaking them better and with more prints

Welp, i think LEGO finally did it. This is the 1st CMF set since i got into collecting (around series 11 or so?) where i wouldn't mind having pretty much EVERY figure. i think the strongman is really the only figure i feel 'meh' on.

My favorites From most to least: Rocket Boy - The Rocket suit is super cool, but I will most likely trade the torso for a plain one so I can make my own Grey Spaceman! Hotdog Man - Everything about this one is great. The Cup and the Hot dog are the best. He could work with Series 13 Hot Dog Man very well. Surfer Dude - He has my hair! Is this the one used on the new Luke Skywalker from the new Death Star? Butterfly Girl - The wings are so cool! I want to try to make a custom butterfly with them! Corn Cob Guy - This one reminds me of the Series 15 Farmer. Could they man a Corn stand? Or could him and the Banana Guy both advertise for the Grocery Store? Is it just me, or does the suit part look Bright green? Veterinarian - This could be good to be the Vet if you wanted to replace the Minidolls in the Friends Sets with Minifigs. Elf - Shiny! This one's Hair is really cool. Could the Series 3 Elf Archer be fighting to save her or for her love? Connoisseur - He could work with the Series 4 Artist? Yuppie - That new keypad and Screen will be so useful! Gourmet Chef - The hat/hair is cool, though it can only be used on females. I wish LEGO came up with a system so that all hair had a minipeg hole and hats could sit on top of them like the tiara or the bows. Battle Dwarf Highwayman Dance Instructor Retro Space Guy Roman Gladiator - Again? They made one back in Series 5. (That I have) Good series overall though.

Jang, you call it a lesser serie but those series are also ment to be fanservice. Just like the veterinarian finds her way in your hospital, the spacekid is a grey classic spaceguy, the elf finds her way in the LOTR community, the highway man blends in with Pirates (of the Caribbean), the '50-era spacedude blends in with all those previous classic style aliens, et cetera.

I don't understand why EVERYONE seems to focus on their opinion that the "Highway Man" minifig is anti-climatic and they whine about that subjective bit. The Highway Man is a well done minifig with great prints and accessories! Why so much complaining about this figure? My opinion is that it's one of the best minifigs in the series, and much better than the Rocketkid minifig that Jang was raving about for some reason.
