Im still confused because both sides also use dark tan uniform s and use the same helmets
@JosStorm Жыл бұрын
@@tapesayshowdyIt is confusing since both sides tend to have the same uniforms in the civil war (part of the mainland Spanish Army joined the Fascists side at the start of the conflict while the rest remained loyal to the Republican government). I made the Fascists with dark tan wear OD Green Gorillos and M26 Spanish Helmets while the Republicans that wear dark tan wear khaki/tan Gorillos and Adrian helmets so it's easier to identify. Later on throughout the war, Adrian Helmets along with light Khaki/Tan Gorillos (the tassel was absent) would become more of a typical Popular Army uniform. Nationalist Regulars were often seen sporting the OD Green Infantry Gorillos with the red tassels and M26 Spanish Helmets, sometimes a few M30 Czechs were issued but those were worn by the Republicans too

Very well made movie! I love the use of cardboard at the beginning for blown out buildings. The audio effects are amazing. The use of what looks like overlayed Microsoft paint for muzzle flashes, bullets, and empty casings is a nice innovation from the standard cotton fiber or orange disks. And of course cotton smoke and play dough blood are still nice effects that hold up after several years, you can never go wrong there. And do i hear World at War music near the end? I love that Very talented! I hope you have the energy for future movies!

Thanks Mike! I am also involved in WW2, Vietnam, and SCW reenacting so in some ways, many of the small details you notice and action you see in the film are from experience lol. I hope to have more people be interested in the Spanish Civil War because it is indeed an interesting conflict in the WW2 era. Through my story telling, I hope it helps people learn about this complicated war, this is something you don’t see everyday. @@JosStorm I've always been of the opinion that telling a great story is the key to making a great film, and that holds true whether the movie is a Lego stop motion film or a multi-million dollar Hollywood production. If there's no story, it's a waste of time. With SCW you've got a GREAT story on your hands! It's all a matter of how you want to tell it. . . , and if it's any help one of the greatest of our American writers did a bang-up job with it in "For Whom The Bell Tolls." You should be so successful (LOL!).

AND . . . I'm with you on getting away from creating one "War Movie" after another. Also I don’t know so so so much about the Spanish civil war and in my animation I am going to incorporate something but I’m not sure if it’s historically accurate. May I ask how the Republicans organized offensives where did the men go to join into the attack? Thanks! Also great animation again!
@JosStorm Жыл бұрын
Thx bro, the sounds are from old movies and games I loved as a kid. As for most Republican units, militias typically formed up throughout Republican-held territories like cities and villages. Training was pretty basic, equipment poor, and experience minimal in contrast to the seasoned veterans of Franco’s troops who fought in the Rif War. The supplies and logistics was a problem throughout the Popular Army in the early days of the war (still is ‘till the end of the war tbh) but much of the problems including lack of army centralization was attempted to be addressed in late 1936 when the Rep Government reorganized the Popular Army. The Mixed Brigades eventually became a typical unit of the Popular Army and Militias had to be intergrated. Certain militia groups like the POUM disliked that since they prefer to doing their own thing rather than having to follow a centralized military hierarchy. Anyways good luck to your Zaragoza film, I look forward to seeing it man
