Here is a thing I noticed - they raised prices mostly in countries with more volatile currencies. For example here in Poland the prices were raised several times during COVID and Ukraine-Russia war but they didn't raise the prices as much in other EU countries. I managed to buy some sets when I was on vacation in Italy cause they were like 20% cheaper compared to Poland stores. Sadly, you are right but the price raises were also unevenly distributed.

9:24 If you wanna get a really good idea on the volume of the cup, you can take the radius of the top and bottom and the height of the cup and then figure out the slope of the edge of the cup. From there you can use point-slop form and solve for y, then if you take the integral of that equation squared from zero to the maximum height of the cup and multiply it by pi you have the volume. The box is just length times width time height, so that one is a little bit less fun to calculate.

Bricksie highlighted this in a few of his vlogs when the new PAB boxes dropped. Not only do they generally hold more pieces than cups, but they're much easier to fill perfectly to capacity, and it saves a lot of time when trying to maximize the amount of pieces you can fit per box, especially across multiples.

AskMandR: I’m more of a prequels/clone wars fan but I think that we fans underestimate how much clone wars stuff we get. We’re getting loads of clone trooper sets every year (despite quality issues) that is really good considering they were only in 2 movies, 2 series (and one spinoff movie) whereas characters such as Rey appeared in 3 movies but only appear in holiday sets. Also we haven’t seen an imperial stormtrooper battle pack in 5 years, for comparison we’ve seen 4 clone trooper battle packs and 1 accessory pack. Btw I’m not a sequels fan (I’m not a phsycopath) but it does seem unfair that they have barely any sets. Love the content keep up the great work

Do you think midi scale (or starship collection, if you have to) could apply not to just capital ships and medium ones (like a Razor Crest or Slave 1, which would also be cool) but to star fighters like an X wing or Jedi Starfighter? Seeing those ships with high amounts of detail but not being forced to fit a mini fig or have play features could make for some amazing looking sets. I work at an airport Lego in Australia, we can order any set we want as long as it isn’t retiring within 6 months of ordering that set. (This is to ensure online orders can be fulfilled). With the brick heads and keychains, they are the only things we have no say on what we get, they just send whatever they want. After back and forth talks with Lego Singapore we have managed to persuade them to let us order any brick heads and keychains we want as well. So if your in Australia you’ll see more variety in brick heads and keychains (FYI each store orders its own stock so no two airports might be the same with stock variety)

I've had sealed sets be completely wrong. I once opened a sandcrawler set that was sealed and new off of a shelf in walmart, and inside was some sort of building/architecture build. I've also purchased sealed sets that are missing whole bags.

LEGO Airport stores are separate entities from regular LEGO stores and can choose what sets they would like to stock. ie hard to find, large/UCS sets, etc. Hope this helped!

I bet with the airports having the sets earlier and sometimes them being discounted is probably a logistics thing. Like its so much easier to fly in drop of some sets then keep making your rounds to other Lego stores so they probably just get sets quicker.

Great video ryan! Flying out of Salt Lake city I saw the Lego store in the airport. Same thing there was bigger sets. They had the Gunship when nobody else did around me. When I flew back into SLC I purchased the Gunship on the way out of the airport. When I presented my VIP card the cashier, she said I'm sorry I can not apply that toward your purchase. When I asked why not, she said they are not affiliated with the LEGO brand. I also had my Lego passport on me and she could not stamp them because she didn't have stamps like the real Lego stores have. If you're not going to treat your VIPs like real Lego customers, I won't purchase from any airport again. Love your dream set idea as well!

A thought for measuring the difference for pick a brick, you could measure the dimensions of the boxes and get cubic inches, and then fill the old style cups with water and pour that out into a measuring cup and use a conversion (quick google says a gallon is 231 cubic inches) so that could be a nice way to compare exact volume.

The point of the lego cup was for sorting and storage, I can't do this with the recyclable boxes. Now if you could still buy the cups separately or even a cube version instead, well then the swap over would be more reasonable, but the boxes are definitely not children friendly. Also the see through nature has been losted, which means less fun. Actually I haven't done PAB since, which kinda shows the magic is gone. Also yeah the price increase was unnecessary especially in countries with a higher exchange rate cost.

Not sure if this is the same everywhere, but I believe at my International airport you can buy things in duty free during departure and collect it when you return back home from travelling. Not 100% confident about that as I havent personally done it, but I believe somw friends of mine have.

My best guest for massive lego in airports is it's probably cheaper for the company to have a bunch of places as stores making some profit also can just serve as warehouses for overstock of the UCS razor crest? Which seems to be a staple at airports. Plus the marketing consideration. Airport stores are probably cheaper or function differently that normal stores so maybe lego can write off enough expenses plus with the sales 🤷‍♂️ could also have to do with sending them out around the country/ world for shippping purposes ?

I bought the AT-TE when Walmart dropped the price and was missing a bag. Thankfully I emailed lego the responded quickly and just requested the set number, a few pictures and they rushed out the missing parts including the missing minifigure head to one of the clone troopers. I was impressed with their response time.

One 212th clone helmet has the Lego logo inside the ring where the head stud goes into, the other clone helmet doesn’t have the logo within that helmet “ring” or antistud. Is this the same with your Lego 212th clone helmets?

on the new BD-1 set. I was missing the entire bag 5 or 6. Lego sent me an entire replacement for that bag in spare parts. Bought the kit at Costco, and they had sold them out. Thankfully I built the set in the past year and didn't wait forever in my back-log. Was completely baffled that could even happen, but was happy that lego did replace it.
