It works better for ground bombing but it's dog____ in space combat and you need to take out the anti aircraft radar as well the opponents starfighter contingent.

Yes the set is spectacular, I agree with Jang if I were to pick one "best set" from the sequels I would go for the Resistance Bomber. Like Luis already said, I really think the bomber was built for ground combat with marginal use in space combat, hence why it got torn to shreds. But... with the WWII influence in mind its worth pointing out that B-17 crews IRL had a survival rate that was below 50%. So I think its kind of interesting that Star Wars for once showed off a horrifying realistic bombing run with absolute mortality, compared to the plot armor we normally see protecting ships. There is a really interesting article that dives into the WWII influences in The Last Jedi that brings up while mentioning the Starfortresses compared to say a Y-Wing and their real inspirations: nationalinterest.org/blog/the-buzz/why-the-last-jedi-teaches-us-the-battleship-truly-dead-23765 Its a shame the sequel trilogy on a whole is so uneven, because occasionally it had moments of brilliance that lead to discussions like the one in that article. I kind of am curious to see what the consensus on the Sequels are in another 10 years, since the discussion over the Prequels ended up changing with time. I dunno if I will ever like Rise of Skywalker, first time I ever left a Star Wars movie truly disappointed; but reading the online intercourse from 10 years ago and people were saying that about stuff like Revenge of the Sith. So I dunno, only time will tell.

As someone who only had the encounter on Jakku out of your on-the-table winners, I have to say the First Order Transport that only made the honorable mention had to be my favorite set as a kid. It has so much space (regardless of technical design failures) and just felt endlessly useful to me.

I personally think the best in terms of colour design was the 2016 resistance x wing with the blue and grey but I personally think the best one has to be the poes x wing from last year as the wings match perfectly compared to the previous ones.

I personally think they have covered as much as they can besides a set based on the duel on Exegol, plus maybe the transport ships that they used to get to Crait and the first order shuttle that Rose and Finn used to get back to Crait.

The best thing about the sequel season especially the Force Awakens was the effort. Something like the resistance transport actually becomes cool. I love it. It was one of my first sets I got a hell of a lot more but it's one of my faves. I still love picking it up and swooshing it.

I love that Resistance Bomber. It was my favourite new ship in the sequel trilogy in the films and I really wanted to get it. But as someone who isn't a massive Star Wars guy I just couldn't justify the price. I regret it now though lol

I’d have to say the First Order Snowspeeder was one of my favorites. It felt like I was getting a piece of what was happening off screen. Kinda like how Kenner sometimes made up their own Star Wars vehicles to expand the Star Wars universe. Very nice build as well.

This was meant to be a real thing as you see it briefly in episode 7 however the original full scene was never made and cut before they got round to shooting the scene. A good set only screwed by lack of screen time and for a lot of people you would be easily mistaken for thinking it didn’t appear at all.

My aunt got me Kylo Ren’s fighter for Christmas 2017 but I didn’t like the movie so I didn’t open it and I couldn’t return it. Last year or maybe this year, I was longing to build some LEGO. I realized that this set probably wouldn’t sell on eBay or anything. I didn’t think there was much demand for it. So I accepted is as a cool display model and play set with cool figures that I didn’t have. And I can use the pieces for MOCs, too.

I agree with selection of quadjumper, big fan of this ship's design. As an honourable mention i would choose I-TS transporter. It looks good, it feels good, figures are good too( especially lieutenant Bek and droids). The only complain about this is the back of transporter, they could use this space for many functions, but it is what it is. Yeah, some of you may complain about this ship, since it never appeared in sequel trilogy, but it is resistance transport, so imo it fits there perfectly. The grey version wasn’t that bad in my opinion but it was lacking in the movement with the wings and the wings were the wrong color. Aside from that its not a bad set (in my opinion at least.

I actually picked up the other version of Kylo Ren's shuttle and I modded it to let the wings move but it was just really bad still. But on Rebrickable, I found an amazing alternate build to make it a star destroyer. It is a great build that has an interior and the instructions are free.

I also like the Luggabeast, and the Rey's Speeder is great. I agree so much with the TIE. I also think the 75273 X-Wing (TROS version) is so so nice. The best X-wing we've had so far (75218 is great too), and I love the colour scheme SO much. Not just the orange and azure and white, but the way the orange is laid out. The engine intakes look amazing. Ah I love that set, however much I don't particularly like TROS.

Gotta say, The Last Jedi sets were pretty awesome. Amazing designs, good value (especially compare to Rise of Skywalker sets). It's a shame we didn't get an additional wave of them - there were plenty of cool parts of that movie that would have translated to LEGO well.

I really like the original Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle. Even though it doesn't have the wing action you can fit all the minifigs and their weapons in it. You could even mod it somewhat easily to flight mode.

I agree with you on everything here (even the strange fact that the Resistance Transport is legit the best set) except for one crucial bit: I LOVE the Resurgent Battlecruiser. Not just the set but the in-universe design. I’m surprised it didn’t make it but I suppose it may be polarizing and I will admit the stud shooters on it are supremely weak. Still, the overall look of the thing and the interior space is just amazing IMO.

I disagree on the hate for the Resistance Transport being unwarranted. This is coming from someone who had to _reapply_ the canopy stickers 🤦🏻‍♂️ But it's an excellent and fun build and makes total sense that it's cobbled together from other vehicle parts. And the best thing: It does what a lot of Lego SW transports fail to do, transport things!

There were some really good sets for the sequels! I love the quad-jumper, as when I pay for a Star Wars set, if it’s over $50, I want it to hold more than one figure. This one was $50 upon release, holds three figures, and can explode! What more could you want?

From looking at images, I think Rey should be the same height or taller than the speeder, which the minifigure isn't, so it's not quite minifig scale, but not far off.
