Got the 2021 version today. I wasnt into lego the last few years, so this and the new AT ST are my first sets in years. Have to say the 2021 Tie fighter is amazing. Its defenetly sturdy and handable enough for play, yet it also is nice to display. Looks really nice and has some nice details. And the best part is, i got it for 30$. I remember having a bigger tie fighter back in the days, however much more expensive than 30$. So its really nice being able two have two minifig scale fighter, to a similar price of one older.

Good points, like the fact you can get a fleet of these for alot cheaper as well. Just got the AT ST. We'll see what that ones all about but the probe droid looks fantastic!
@XxXAirsoftboyXxX2 жыл бұрын
@@TieTheLegoGuy also what's really great about the tie fighter. You can more or less easy build it into a interceptor, outlander and some other tie versions. Most of them don't need extra parts. I'll probably get a second soon just to build an interceptor. The AT ST is great in my opinion. Most likely you won't pay more than 25-40$, at this price you really get something nice. As the tie fighter, a bit small, however it has some details, looks good as display and you can definitely play with it. Only negative is you can't move the legs very much. However if it's just for display, this point is no as important.

I really like the 2021 one, as it is much closer to real minifig scale. The others are actually too big, compared to the size the tie fighters have in the movies. Besides that, as always, a super nice review! You are defenetly my favourite lego youtuber 👍

I love comparison videos like this…to see how LEGO evolved a certain ship/set over time. First off, I love seeing light up Darth Vader make an appearance. That’s is such an awesome fig. I can’t remember if I told you, I ended up with another extra one not too long before I moved…also in excellent condition like ours. I also got the Luminara for a great deal to complete the collection of Light up Star Wars figures a couple months ago…and just a couple weeks ago, I got the police officer with a light up flashlight. His light is weak, so I need to replace the battery. But I haven’t rushed because my tiny screwdriver I use to replace the batteries on those is still packed…though I think I know exactly where (75% sure), but haven’t checked yet. The only one of these I’ve built so far is the 9492, which came out right around when I got back into LEGO as an adult. I feel like this was a lucky time to get back into LEGO, and this ship is a good example, where I think (in a lot of cases at least), there was a significant jump in design over the previous versions of Star Wars sets that came out around then. I also have 75101 that I haven’t built (before your video, I didn’t realize it had areas for two pilots). I liked the long bar pieces they used on the 9492 wings for detail and the simple plates used on the 75101/75211 almost seem like a small step backwards for that part of the design. Wondering if you had any thoughts on that one aspect, even though they have other improvements? I especially notice it on the front view (weird I know) that the plates/tiles in the middle stick out a bit in front. It’s a tiny knock for sure, but I’m thinking the 9492 did a little better with that. I may feel different when I build the 75101 and have them in front of me. I also have the instruction book for the TIE Fighter Collection 10131, which I haven’t sorted the tub yet, but there are ton of partially built parts for the TIEs with the blue in that tub…so I’m hoping that will give me a nice addition of some of the vintage TIEs to my collection. I wonder (Do you know?) are any of the TIE Fighter’s in that collection, the same as the individual ones that were sold around that time? I’ve not researched it yet. It was great to look at these and hear your thoughts. I love seeing the different years compared side by side...and your comparison was really good and insightful.

Jealous of the all those light up lightsaber guys you have lol. And I personally feel the 2015 is slightly better than the 2012 but its close. Also the pack, that has the same fighters as the 2004 tie if I remember right? Great set 🔥

@@TieTheLegoGuy I am really stoked that I was able to get all of the light up figs for well under their value and all it great condition. It would make since about the TIEs. I have a not to research it, but ended up in work meetings all day and never got around to it. Once I get my LEGO room (home office) organized, I'm going to prioritize going through those tubs...so I can know what's in there. Maybe this weekend, I can get some stuff done. I need to clean some old stuff out, then I want to store my unbuilt sets in there...then I can build my display cases/table top desk....then I'll have so much more room to go through the tubs. When I bought it was two medium large tubs, but when I moved I tried to combine them into one larger tub, but had some overflow into a smaller tub with the instruction books. After seeing what instruction books I had, now I'm anxious to find out what's all in there...hopefully all those Star Wars sets...especially the UCS Vader's TIE.

Great comparison! I'm currently trying to get the 2018 TIE, but wanted to see all of the other ones out of curiosity. It's crazy how far the design has come, and I definitely agree that the 2018 version is nearly perfect. The minifigures in that set are also the best ones in my opinion. Even the "standard" TIE pilot is unique, sporting white imperial insignias on his helmet, rather than the usual silver. Overall though, very underrated video. This deserves more views and likes!
