Yeah, camera movement is one of the big challenges in stop motion animation. It would be interesting to see more Behind The Scenes about pre-production and how you inspire to build your sets.
@BrotherhoodWorkshop10 жыл бұрын
HarryAndBillyBrick I will take that into consideration :) Inspiration is hard to be specific about. It's generally pretty straightforward. "I have an idea! I need these things for the idea. I will build them!"

BrotherhoodWorkshop could you make the trailer for the first hobbit movie. You know leading up to the last trailer. Just so you have all three trailers.
@BrickInMind7 жыл бұрын
HarryAndBillyBrick totally agree. this is something i am trying currently and it is a huge struggle. However my productions are not as advanced and as long as from Brotherhood Workshop but it can be challanging already.

Personally I have lego train city train track. Of which I built something to hold the camera with train axels on the bottom, and then just move the set up along the rails for each frame and block the wheels with bricks on the ties for each shot For making sure the subject is always constant I use onion skinning

I've been using camera movement a lot more lately, and I must say that thise techniques have really improved my videos! Also, to anyone who uses stop-motion studio: I suggest, and especially for camera movements, to try onion skinning. It is THE BEST.

Very cool! I usually move the set rather than the camera as well. Just works better.

Hello BrotherhoodWorkshop, you have really good skills with animating. I would like to ask you, what will be the best technique to keep a minifigure without any shaking during a walk or a movement. And what's the best way not to lose/forget a movement when you are moving multiple figures. And when will you make a Star Wars project?
@COMMANDERFOX3110 жыл бұрын
Joey Pishkin I agree with you regarding the Onionskin. However, only iStopmotion offers that, I am a Windows user using Sony Vegas and CS6, onion skinning does not exist for those versions.
@rigatoni62110 жыл бұрын
***** I doubt you have the money for Dragonframe but that has onion skinning (Dragonframe is $299 though) and there is another free program called Sam Animation which has onion skinning

Very Clever to use just the heads to make the set look bigger/taller. I also noticed that you used the old Ronald Weasley Hairpiece next to the new Ronald Weasley Hairpiece. I also saw gorgy in Diagon Alley. Another thing I noticed is that the Barrel Escape set is placed on top of the Elven Halls as well as a the Map form the Goblin King Battle Set that the Scribe holds in professor Lupin's office. Also Is there a Rancor in the Background?

Your stop motion is so smooth!😮
@jensenwolff90955 жыл бұрын
I suppose it's best to move the wooden table top instead of just the set because it limits your movements and helps your animations look smoother.

With say, the flying bird for example, how do you keep it aloft for the shot without any sort of visible thing to hold it up?
@bsv10310 жыл бұрын
You use a prop for the real picture, then take a pic of just the background, then use an image editing program like photoshop or paint.net to edit out the prop so it looks like the bird is flying on its own. That's how I'd do it for a picture, but there might be a better way to do it for an animation.
