I love that the Corvette is the same scale as the blue car. I hope they make more cars in that scale. Also love the fact that it doesn't have PF. Pure mechanical Technic set. Love it!

I would argue that this is set deserves 5 stars for "pieces donor." It's the perfect starter set for making your own cars at the corvette scale. Plenty of wheels and panels.

Finish the built late last night. I adore this set. So playable, so many great function. And I got some very different spares from you. Still got the two 'guard rails', but otherwise about 50% different. I know you sometimes get small variances in spares, but I've never seen such a difference!

I built the b model, you have to sort out all the parts first as it uses bits from all bags to build, I like the odd van, the cars ok and the main truck lacks ground clearance to be able to move. The b model is the same length as the a, both sit next to each other on top of a 2x2 Ikea kallax..

By the way , 42079 B-model easily fits in second deck . All you have to do is just connect one more detail on car's down , for the tow truck can be fixed there .

nice video, just ordered this set :) driving a car transporter by my own, and it's normal that they can't be unloaded without the trailer. The most of them (90% of every European Car transporter) can't even take the Trailer off, so it's not removable by the driver. That's why it don't even needs a solution for unload without the trailer ^^ greetings from switzerland.

Excellent review Sariel! Maybe it's just me but I always find something to be really odd looking when it comes to Legos truck trailers. I think its the weird gap with the rear wheels as it seemed to be the same on the Mack trucks trailer.

When the prelim pictures came out, I wasn’t too impressed with the set, but after looking at the video, it seems a lot more fun than I anticipated. The biggest problem for me is that it’s not very complex for a set this large, and that the functions “starting point” and “ending point” are too close.

Charger? Not Camaro? This set reminded me of my old 8872, but it is incomparably better. However, my favorite transporter is 6335. Very compact, but very competent set, which does not have much less functionality than 42098, of course, considering the differences between technic and the system.

as for the price it looks like there are quiet a few big and some complicated parts in the set and it's as you said an Enormous set as for only including one car. it would only jack the price more to put more cars to fill the transport to capacity not to mention as you mentioned it could be a starter set. So Lego has set up for at least a few more cars in scale with the transport in the future. I'd be more inclinde to complain that the price is a little steep for a NON licenced set as it's Legos own design and not any specific manufacturers truck or car.

You can want there to be two Corvette like cars with this set, but then the set world problably cost €50-60 extra. You world get a €200+ set without any electric parts, which is just too expensive for many people.

Hi there, Can I please ask you, is the B Model of this set the same size as the A Model of this set?? And can the B Model of this set that have the blue truck with trailer, the red car and the red van fit inside the A Model lower deck of truck and trailer of the A Model set?? Because I Was thinking of buying 2 of this LEGO Technic Set to build the A Model and the B Model and see if the red car and red van can fit inside the A Model lower deck of the truck and trailer and have the A Model truck pulling the B Model trailer and the B Model pulling the A Model trailer.

Having bought and built the model, the "hand of God" steering is bad in the truck, but far worse in the car...almost to the point of being unacceptable. I think having the front axle solid, without the steering might be better. I'm tempted to purchase it again, just to build the "B" model.
