I love that you look at both the pros AND cons of the set. Lots of Lego KZbinrs don't cover the negative aspects of a set, and it's refreshing to see such an honest approach.

I think that the lack of front springs mimics the disconnecting sway bar that the original Rubicon has at the front axle so in the Lego set kinda makes sense to leave the front axle free and not spring loaded so the front has more movement than the back.

The actual Jeep has that suspension because it is the Rubicon (there is a button on Rubicon versions that removes the sway bar automatically) and it helps with rock crawling. If it were a Sport, the base model, it would have individual suspension and you would have to manually get out of the car and unscrew the sway bars. Rubicon is the top end and most expensive for real Jeeps that also includes a wheel lockers button. If you want to know more about jeeps please let me know!!!

Incorrect. All wrangles use a solid/live axle setup. No Wrangler has ever has independent suspension.

I feel like you expect way to much out of a lego car lol. I use real rc crawlers and I dont see a huge issue with it. Its very hard to make things scale and have tons of features at such a small size. Over all I think its a great little looking crawler trail jeep made of lego.

Great review! If you really want proper suspension pieces that are useful consider getting a 42037 set for basic suspension pieces that are pretty useful

The only Jeep wranglers that say Rubicon on the side are the Jeep Wrangler rubicons, it is a trim level

These vehicles are all descended from the original military general purpose vehicle made by Willys-Overland company for the United States military starting in 1941. The name was commonly referred to as simply GP which ended up being pronounced as the single syllable sound “jeep”. The name stuck and when they started making them for the public after the war they named them Jeep officially. Actually it was designed fast at 75 days in 1940, no way you can do a clean sheet vehicle design in 2 days. Another great video but I must take exception with your critique of the front end, I personally think that when considering the number of parts used and the price point LEGO did an exceptional job getting the whole body including the front to look close to authentic. The main thing on the front of any Jeep vehicle is the seven vertical slots of the grill.

I had a big problem with the shock absorbers in the back where the springs are far too compressed, making the entire back of the car unable to align correctly. I'm not sure what I did wrong since apparently nobody else has had this problem

Good review, however, two things you got wrong. (1) Jeeps don't have independent suspensions, they have solid axels. (2) Most Jeep Wranglers are NOT Rubicon models. That is the top level Wrangler and probably comprises less than 25% of the Wrangler models on the road - there are many other package levels, Sahara, Sport, Willys, etc.

Uh most Jeeps have always been Live Axle which means you will never see IRS. But of course you knew that right? Next you want the disconnecting sway bars right? Come on now, also these are not that expensive compared to the other kits. I am hooked on these kits, yeah they aren't perfect. Also remember the huge bank LEGO pays licensing from Jeep or anyone of else. I would have liked BF Goodrich Mud terrains but that is just me. The Wrangler is coming as my 3rd kit after my Mclaren Senna I am doing, and after I get the Corvette. Fun review of yours.

On my technic lambo the transmission was working perfectly fine then suddenly the gears started to make loud noises, and when I pull it back, it goes forward like those toy cars, you have any solutions?

That means that there’s something blocking the motion in the transmission. The gears and up turning and “bending” the axles, so it ends up acting as a spring pullback system

There’s no set in stone reason it’s called Jeep. But, there are many theories about how it got its name. Some believe it’s from gp or general purpose as you believe. Other myself included think it’s from the popeye character. But that’s what’s cool about Jeeps there’s no wrong answer on how the name came to be.

I love this Jeep but its design has a mistake and it is that the curves of the real Rubicon are round and the Lego ones are square and it makes it look like an old Jeep But it does not mean that it is a very good set :D

Funny. I've seen a few of your videos now but on this one I disagree with almost every point. I'm no Jeep fanboy and I don't think the branding adds anything to this set other than stickers and a price tag. This is a play set, not a model. The proportions are way off and it looks little like the prototype it's supposed to represent. I think the suspension is very clever and perfectly fit for purpose. It's simple enough to build and the shocks at the back are stiff enough to level the car. The steering I immediately changed to 'normal' straight up HoG steering. I found it very awkward in the positiona and angle it's in. While doing that I also changed the roll hoops (if that's what they are) behind the cab to a better shape and filled the enormous gaps below the doors. From a functional point of view my biggest criticism is the ridiculous turning circle but that's been a problem with Technic for I think 15 years now. Anyway, keep making those videos, nothing wrong with hearing a different point of view every now and then ;-)

It sucks, at that scale you can add a real winch, and actually have pendular suspension that goes squish and a drivetrain. Zerobricks made one with full suspension, front steering and its awd. I am skipping on this one
