I think that's an exaggeration but yeah there's no way cheese slopes and bucket handles as connectors is legit

17:45 - "if you can come up for a use with this I'd be impressed". Ok here you go, I'm working on modifications to apollo 92176 - the model works great for display . . But I need it to be functional in order to demonstrate all the step-by-step processes of going-landing-returning from/to moon. There are a lot of attach and detach steps needed between the command module and lunar lander. The build provided by lego is not functional in this regard. I've had to make a number of modifications to make it functional . . However I was stuck on one area and viola! Your modification at 17:45 provides a way for the ascent stage to affix diagonal to the descent stage allowing the descent stage legs to retract in further! Thank you !!!

Great video, shot in a way to really help people learn. I had just come up with that 2x2 hinge plate one myself during the RL monthly challenge when it was the seed part, still need to use it in something.

Ive been building for a very long time. Ive known about a few of these for years but sadly I hadn't seen the bucket handle used in between plates before......This is gonna work well with what I do...Thanks for the video. As a reminder we are never done learning...Keep building

Sorry, but I'm new to Lego, but I have one simple and maybe stupid question... Wouldn't it be much easier for many problems just to buy a 3D printer and print exactly the parts that you need? Or would that be what you call very super duper mega ultra illegal?

It's just that for most MOC builders, it's fun is to come up with solutions with the pieces you have

Wouldn't road cycling be easier if you just used a car? It's called cheating. Lego building is done with lego pieces. That's how the result can be percieved impressive.

Is there a way for 1 1x4 plates to face each other? Edit: without a gap? I’m trying to use spring shooters for doors.

One of the most preferred sites for Lego builders is bricklink.com. It’s very useful for getting the exact pieces you need in the right quantity.

they call it illegal if the bricks don't fit 100% in that configuration and the material is under stress.

it's a term that was used internally in a document for lego designers to explain why they can use certain techniques in lego sets and the afol community now uses it too because it's funny and personally I'd rather avoid damaging my pieces so it's good to know that certain techniques aren't good for your lego bricks
