In this video I introduce you to a MOC (my own creation) by designer NeoSephiroth from Stone-Heap.com. This is the Thalys PBKA in the colour scheme of 2021.The Thalys is an european high speed train that connects various european citys.
This is the first and only model for building bricks as far as I know and it`s just awesome. I had a lot of fun building this train but take a look for yourself for further informations.

TrixBrix tracks have even more options to choose from ;) should look great on R104 curves :D plus i like the 8 Wide version i think it doesn't look as bad and for the axles: try some with Ball-Bearings instead super low rolling resistance for lego trains!
@kexysbrickbuilts
@kexysbrickbuilts 2 жыл бұрын
I know the tracks of TrixBrix and I am glad that there is a provider that offers different radii. But in my opinion, the tracks offered are much too expensive. I am not willing to spend 80 € (90 US$) for a complete circle in radius 104. I have already got ball bearings, in case the rolling resistance of the Lego wheels should still be too high. Unfortunately, Lego is not able to ship 40 individual wheels in a reasonable amount of time. I've been waiting 3 weeks now.

nice build, but I need to point out that your jackobs bogies are not made correctly. I don't know if it is because you lack parts preventing you from building it the right way but anyway I want to explain it so anybody wanting to try building is able to do it. I tried doing it when i was younger but i didn't have necessary part. So how does a jackobs bogies work? Well first you need a bogie, but instead of having a center pivot it has an intercirculation ring. That ring is basically 2 parts: - The passenger part with the belows - The Carriage coupling system Let's focus on the coupling. In it's most simplified occurence, it's a vertical rod situated in the pivot point of the bogie, under the passenger part, each car have a hook that can link onto that rod. The hooks aren't at the same height so they aren't interfering each other. this system do exist, not on real trains but on model trains like an old Jouef TGV set which use the system i have described. I'd be happy to see you build this and see how you did it.

Thank you for your comment. I think I understood what you were trying to explain to me, but I believe that the representation of the Jacob's bogies after your explanation with bricks is not easy to build.

Hi, the price for the building instructions is about US-$ 21 (€20) which you can find at stone-heap.com/shop/pdf-bauanleitungen-easy/set-angebote/produkt/thalys-pbka-set/. Unfortunately, I can't say exactly how much I paid for it. I already had some of the parts, most of them I ordered from www.BrickLink.com and after I made color adjustments, I also had to switch to a few alternative bricks that were not from LEGO. But I would estimate that I spent about US-$ 450 - 500, so not a really good price. If it's not a problem for you to use alternative bricks (not LEGO), you can put together the train for about US-$ 300, for example at www.webrick.com. They currently have almost all parts (except for about 30 parts like the train wheels or printed parts).

I don't know where you and your son live, but I think it would be too expensive to ship the train. But I'm glad he likes the train. ;-)

@@kexysbrickbuilts thanks you so much for your reply we are residing here at USA do you have any recommendation to order the bricks

@@autistictrader2884 Well, since you live in the US you should probably order the bricks through Bricklink. There is a function where Bricklink puts together the individual bricks from different online shops. You can also choose whether you want to buy new or used bricks. But it's definitely not cheap. If it doesn't have to be LEGO bricks, you can of course also order the bricks from Asia (e.g. from Webrick.com). There you can also upload a parts list and you get everything from a dealer and also much cheaper. But probably not all bricks are in stock. In the next two weeks I will be releasing a video that also talks about webrick bricks. But just another topic: The train is really beautifully designed and it looks really good. I don't know how old your son is and if he really wants to play with it or just watch the train run. But it's definitely not a playset. The special construction of the front ("nose") is not super stable and is not really suitable for children to play on. Don't get me wrong, the construction is well thought out and built as stable as this construction allows. I think that's what you should know about this set. If you still have questions, don't hesitate to ask me.

The original window size looks better than yours. But your color scheme does look better than the original.

To be honest.. I totally agree with you. :-) but since I will soon need the grey train windows for another project, it is very likely that the Thalys will get its original windows back.

No, it's not my website. I just wanted to let the viewers know where I bought my tracks. I don't get any money for it either, just in case that's your next question.

@@kexysbrickbuilts So, it’s like you’re trying to say everything shown is bought with your money. The tracks, and all the pieces needed to make the Thalys High Speed Train MOC.

@@ZavSTVwithTOYGAMELECTION I'm not trying to say that, I'm saying this because it's the truth. Building trains from bricks is my hobby and I spend MY money on it. And yes.. it's not always the cheapest hobby.

Because the original model is not from me, but from a designer of stone-heap.com. I only made a few technical and color adjustments.
