6394 Metro Park was the crown jewel of the late 1980s at $55-60USD. It was the set I wanted so badly. I had the Shell Service Station for $22 and asked for this for Christmas, but was told I already had the service station. I bought the Small Raceway Set for the individual parts for $20 then got the Large Speedway set for Christmas which I never requested, and was just a larger version of the small 1 plate Raceway. 30 years later and I still think about this set.

I had spare Christmas/Birthday money I couldve used for 6394, but was talked out of it for the above reasons.

I got this set in 1990. Its awesome. I loved the car wash and the elevator as a child. Because of this video I searched a lot of hours through my old lego boxes to find most of the pieces. Luckily I found the 2 white hoses. Now I have to order a few missing parts at bricklink. For example the brushes because my original ones are damaged :-D

I never owned this set but remember it very well. 1988 was the last year I wanted lego for christmas or birthday when I turned 10 I wanted other stuff. However looking at this set the shell part of this set is somewhat of a variant of set 6378 which I had and liked very much. Today I have 6394 complete with opened box but sealed bags. Also this set is a great reminder of how cool big legosets were back in those days when a kid in the store could take a set and open the lid to be inspired and look inside the actuall set. This is one thing I miss about lego sets nowadays. Awesome review Bricktsar! 🤗

I miss the days when a Lego box had a flap in the front that opened revealing a few of the pieces and a mini figure or 2

I had that set, but it was stolen from me... A guy renting a room in our house took it. My first Lego set. I was 6, we lived in Poland, my father worked hard in Western Germany to buy this set for me, and many good things for us.

this is one of the sets i saved up for as a kid, after building it and buying the then airport set it quickly became part of my evolving airport.After getting the space monorail etc that slowly evolved from that tropical small thing to a 3 storied continues walk trough monoraild tower that i placed on a small corner of land in my then city. This set teached me how to make what can be considered traditional prefab column and slab structures. Still love to build that way now..... Now if i only had space to un box my airport and build it again lol. o and that new tower yes i bought 3 of them but i will share what i did withe that one when the vid come out ;-)

This weekend I climbed into my attic to give my son my huge box of legos from my childhood. In the box was this set. The instructions manual is torn up and missing pages and many pieces are broken or missing. Wish I took better care of it.

@Andy85uk
@Andy85uk 10 жыл бұрын
Nah it's not rare, pretty common piece for the period. With blue arms that torso was in 10 sets until 1991, with white arms it was in another 6 sets.
