Cool! At that time you could also buy the trucks separately in a different and smaller set!

I've always admired that LEGO seemed to put a good dose of emphasis on designing sets that could stand on their own. Each set may very well be someone's first LEGO set and the perfect time to make them want more. Balancing that with designing sets to integrate well made for some awkward choices sometimes. It's funny how you kept wanting more small ladders for the trucks... then I noticed a slew of them on the weird tower lol. They really could have gone to much better use. I'm just glad there's still a lot more subject matter for you to cover and bestow upon us through your lovely videos.

I don't understand what the tower is for. There's a hose in it, so is it for drying the hoses after they've been used, maybe? 🤔🤷‍♂

yes, that is actually the function of the tower, to dry the hoses. Personally, I don't think that's really spectacular. But the hoses were a novelty at that time and I think they wanted to build a play feature around the hoses. There are two connection points in the tower, but there is only 1 hose. There are still 2 hoses on the truck, so 3 hoses in total. For me, there could have been two extra hoses in the set, if there had been more budget.

my first (and last, aside the Winter Village one...) firestation was the 1994 version, so i don't have any pink googles of nostalgia about the 3 older stations... but my favourite is still the '90 one, maybe for the water tank with its futuristic lines (it reminds me the SWAT tank in real life...)

set 6571 flame fighers from 1994 is the only fire station missing in my collection in the period that I collect (I collect until 1996). Even though it's 1994, it looks very modern to me on photo, and it seems to me to radiate less uniformity. I won't specifically look for it, but if I find it for a good price, I might buy it and show it on my channel 🙂
