I just don’t understand why so many people are excited about this set. Sure, having a post office is a nice idea, but the execution feels lacking, especially when compared to last year’s models.

I'm going to get this because I like all the winter village sets and have them all back to 2014. If I were to rank them, the post office will probably land in the middle. I wish LEGO could have found a way to include the delivery truck (or a postal sleigh) instead of a balloon. The balloon looks out of place to me as I don't associate hot air balloons with Santa Claus or winter. (I suppose other cultures could portray Santa with a hot air balloon and I just don't know about it.)

I think they used the hot air balloon because it's a new LEGO piece, and they’re trying to include it in several sets. As you said, the hot air balloon doesn’t really connect with Christmas or Santa-a sleigh would be a better fit, but there's already a separate set for that. I feel like Santa’s Post Office doesn’t quite fit in with the current selection of LEGO winter sets.

@@lukasthebuilder Sleigh is for Santa to deliver the presents. Ballon is just delivering the mail to the North Pole, which is never really explained how it happens so hot air ballon works just fine. It's certainly more "magical" than a truck.

Great video. Completely agree. I feel this years set is lacking in detail. Likely to achieve the target price. Conceptually it’s great just not fully realized.

@@neilrusling-je6zo I’m quite surprised by all the comments on my video, as they’re mostly negative about this set. When I was writing the script, I already had a negative view, so I wanted to see if it was just me. I read through many comments on Tiago’s video, and everyone seemed really positive about the set-even Tiago praised how amazing it is. I just don’t feel the same. For me, it seems like LEGO isn’t producing their best sets this year.

Actually, I haven’t purchased a winter village set the last few years because I felt they lacked on the ones before it. I loved the ginger bread house, the elves house and santas visit, all of which seem more winter wonderland. The Main Street and lodge sets seemed more winter than Christmas for me and lacked on that idea of wonderland. Probably because I’m British and a lodge is not associated with us. Mainstreet was a disappointment because those buildings were terrible. The only good thing about it was the tram, which came with no track. It was a joke of a set. This post office is in line with what I want from these Christmas sets, and I absolutely love the balloon sitting on top . I’ll probably get the delivery truck too.

@@TheLeeCartoon I totally get your frustration. For me, though, Holiday Main Street has been the best so far-I’m really into modular builds and trains, so having a tram, even without tracks, felt like a bit of a dream come true. I ended up buying two sets to pair the trams and expand the shops. As for the Post Office, I appreciate the winter wonderland vibe, but it doesn’t quite feel like a finished product. I love the front facade, and the balloon is fantastic, but the interior with the sliding ramps is a nice touch that could use a bit more polish.

Still contemplating to buy it or not, it looks a bit childish to me, expected a bit more, but on the other hand I've got last 6 years so feel I like to carry on, indeed as mentioned very disappointed the post van is not included

I was of the same opinion, then I saw it built in the flesh in the Lego store... had to get it... I dont think any videos I've seen have done it justice... just my humble opinion

Ive bought it...but not built it, and compared to the last few years it looks...lacking. Santas House, Holiday Street, Alpine beauty...NOW THOSE ARE CLASSIC, this one though is not doing it for me. Alpine and Street tram were so good I bought two, will not be getting two of these. The worst one for a long time, a really long time.

I couldn't agree more with you. I also love the Elf House! Funnily enough, I also bought several copies of Holiday Main Street, which, for me, is the best winter set ever. I might get more copies of the Alpine Lodge as well, but that will have to wait until next year.
