I felt the same way. When it was released in 2023, I was quite skeptical about this set, but over time, I started to appreciate it, and now I’m really glad it’s part of my collection.

This set is so beautiful. Great color work throughout. It really reminds me of an unforgettable weekend during the jazz festival in Montreal with my wife. Dinner and drinks during a jazz performance is extremely magical. As always, I greatly enjoy your videos. Every time you have a new video I set a time that night so I can watch it in peace.

Hi there ! Thx for this very polished and so nice video about a modular i really like (I bought 2 copies !). You put so much care in it as usual, it is a real pleasure to watch. Which one will follow ? Natural History Museum ? BTW I am very curious about what will Lego produce in January as the next modular...some leaks suggest it could be a pub. What do you think on your side ? Regards.
@lukasthebuilder17 сағат бұрын
The review of the Natural History Museum was done last year, so if you’d like to watch it, check out my video list or find it in the Icons playlist. Next week, I’ll be reviewing The Endurance boat. Regarding the new modular set, based on the leaks I’ve seen, my first impression isn’t very positive. But let’s wait until it’s officially revealed. I’ll definitely be picking it up on release day, so stay tuned for the review!

@lukasthebuilder17 сағат бұрын
Thank you for your suggestion. I’m aware there’s some criticism about using AI voice in my videos, but honestly, I’ve tried using my own voice, and I wasn’t happy with the results. With AI voice, the videos sound more professional, and I feel much more confident about them.

I think for display purposes like modulars, it's worth it because everything comes to life, especially if you are building a street or city block. However, sets for playing with, the lighting wires can be an obstruction. I recently used the lighting kit on my Orient Express and, while I think it looks beautiful, created a lot of inconvenience. The wires connected the locomotive, tender, and bogie carriages together, making it very difficult to detach or move the train.
@lukasthebuilder3 күн бұрын
I agree with you-lighting really brings modulars to life. I just wish there were a better way to install them since the wires end up being visible almost everywhere.
@joe-bowling4 күн бұрын
I love having lights in my LEGO sets, but I usually only put lights in sets I have on display for Christmas and Halloween. I have light kits for the modular bookshop and the A-frame cabin and they look great. But as you said, the cost adds up quick, so most of my lights are not part of kits so I can come up with my own combination of lights for anything I want and re-use them as needed.
@lukasthebuilder3 күн бұрын
Honestly, I feel the price is just too high for what you get. If you’re a modular collector and decide to buy lights for two or three sets, it feels almost necessary to get them for all of them. But in the end, each set becomes $100 more expensive, which is quite a lot. If the cost were around $10, I’d happily buy lights for all my sets.

I’m not a Lego expert so am wondering why the Eldorado island already goes on retirement while for example the Lions Castle is way longer for sale? Is it about sales numbers?
@lukasthebuilder4 күн бұрын
Most LEGO sets typically have a two-year shelf life, and Eldorado is just about to hit that mark. The Lion Knights’ Castle is one of LEGO's most popular sets, so it wouldn’t make sense for them to retire it if it's selling well. However, I think it might be retired by the end of next year.

The art factory fits best with my family as my wife teaches music and painting is her hobby and my kids both play band instruments and can play piano. The gold mine looks great, but will be very expensive. The castle didn't impress me at first, but there may be more to it than I can see. I'm definitely going to look for reviews on these sets when it's closer to next October because I think a couple of them might end up being really good but I don't see it now.

In my honest opinion, the Jeep / Tent set was a huge disappointment and a complete waist of a spot. It's something you can mock on the side with very little effort. I also find it's odd that the set consist of two minifigures but the jeep can only fit one. Also, Lego already has a yellow Land Rover (#40650), so really the only thing left is a tent. I also sense something fishy going on with BDP. This designer was also the winner in S3 with Camping Adventure. Neither set were above and beyond, and were up against far better competition in the same piece count category. The other four were not my top choices but were high on my list so I'm relatively okay with them. Thanks again for a great video.

Definitely nice-looking sets, but absolutely nothing I wanted; even the wolf pack fortress is the only wolf pack fortress I didn't want. To be fair, I probably wouldn't even be able to afford this series regardless. I"m still trying to find a way to afford both the Pirates of Tortuga and Adventures in Transylvania sets once they're available for crowdfunding.

It seems like a great set, but it also feels very expensive. 400 bucks is really pushing the limits, 350 would have been more reasonable. LEGO knows there is a hardcore castle fanbase.

I agree, it is one of the finest Modular Designs to date. I did dark tan pavement and skipped the plant green and red colors (did a dark green with gold flag) in order to magnify the destinct all over impression. Also improved the dome and the balcony structure.

I bought it because I liked that it had an autumn look, my family loves books, and I liked the blue house that had some interesting buulding techniques, and it even a little pumpkin garden in the back.

Both sets look beautiful and I will always cherish the memories of my daughter building them with me.
