You've became such an amazing builder Jernej! Every time you come with something new and more interesting, as well as this model! The suspension is the best part of the model, but I'm glad that it's also really unstoppable and robust, even if the model itself doesn't that good, the main thing is again the rigidity. Great job as always man🤗

I’m designing my own 6x6 LEGO RC. I’m completely new and the differentials kinda have me stumped. Each pair of wheels is gonna be equally spaced, so there’s a considerable distance between them. For each pair I’m gonna have a Torsten differential, but for the differentials between the pairs (like a differential on the drive train between the first and second pair, and a differential on the drive train between the second and third pair), what should I use? Two locking differentials that I manually lock remotely? Or another two Torsen differentials so I don’t have to add any more motors?

Bro I got a question, didn't you get a lot of melted axles for this build? The 1:1 gear ratio should be fine, but the 3:1 axle would make the 8 teeth spur gear spin so fast that it would be very easily to melt the axle it is on, because it is not a symmetrical design, the axle would be under force, hence the friction would be huge, plus the rpm=high heat on plastic axle. I melted lots of axles and beam holes with this kind of setup...
@ZEROBRICKS
@ZEROBRICKS 10 ай бұрын
I used lubrication, it helps a lot
@CantAim00
@CantAim00 10 ай бұрын
I use silicone oil too, but still there are limits, like in your design. Unless in your high gear the power of the motors didn't match the load, meaning the motors are kind of stalled because of low torque, hence real rpm is much lower than no loads mode, if that's the case your batteries should shut down a lot in high gear on solid road(no slippery), did they? @@ZEROBRICKS
@ZEROBRICKS
@ZEROBRICKS 10 ай бұрын
@@CantAim00 so far no major issues, though I regularly take apart, clean, relubricate and rebuild the models after heavy and dirty outdoor use. Also I use grease, which might work better than oil.

I did some calculation based on my current moc, mine was 8 buggy 4.4kg with 135mm tyres and 1:5 gear ratio, so when wild cat run in high speed the load is 1.33x of my moc, but it has 1.5x the power, so indeed should be fine, no load match problem, so it should indeed be the effect of lubrication. hello, I have a model that has a 4xrc monster motor from the internal motor, the transmission is from 20/12 teeth and from there to the new wheel hub that you use in the wildcat. I have power for the motors via 2Xbuwizz 3.0.. it happens to me when there is some resistance or when the battery is low discharged, the buwizz 3 will turn off... to turn it on again, I have to connect it to charging so that it turns on... what could it be? 20/12 transmission and high resistance or high current consumption? do you have any advice to solve it? the model is relatively light
@ZEROBRICKS
@ZEROBRICKS Жыл бұрын
Are you suddenly accelerating or reversing power? If so, use a ramp function to ease the shock on the motors.
@Matej-Brick
@Matej-Brick Жыл бұрын
sometimes I accelerate but I don't reverse...if I ramp up to 5 seconds, does it help?...mostly I add gradually, according to your videos it looks like you can give full throttle without problems...but I'll try the ramp setting...is there a problem if turns off the battery and the model continues on its own
@ZEROBRICKS
@ZEROBRICKS Жыл бұрын
@@Matej-Brick If you accelerate too hard, it can overload the BW. Use the current gauge and if the motors are drawing over 3As, than you need to accelerate smoother. I suggest you set ramp to 0,5 seconds.
@Matej-Brick
@Matej-Brick Жыл бұрын
thanks for the advice, I'll try to give 0.5s .... if it's about overcoming obstacles and increasing the current during the load, there probably shouldn't be a problem?

@legolas7470

I did the same math, but I think you calculated wrong because what really matters is the weihgt of the huge tires. I built a Model with just 4 motors and very light tires. The Electronic components weights 441 g (2 bwz3, 4bwz motor, 1legopu l motor)And the rest of the car 400 g. This relation shows how efficient the model is. How is the relation at the BEAST? Furthermore, the lighter and smaller a model is, the less force is acting on the parts, so parts at the steering System work more accurate with less play or bending, which is also very important when building a car: the more power, the more worse the steering. In relation to the weight, the steering has more torque the leighter the model is.
@ZEROBRICKS
@ZEROBRICKS Жыл бұрын
Is your model an offroader with all wheel drive, suspension and a gearbox? Your model weighs 841 g and uses 4 motors which is 210 g/motor. Mine uses 12 at 2500 g which is 208 g/motor. And yes, a lighter model usually is more robust.

It is built to go fast over rouge terrain, it can go with 14 kmh over stones or Grass and climb hills up to 30 degrees, but its mostky built for speed, on road around 17 kmh I built a offroad version that actually Uses the same gearbox because it is so strong and efficient, but that one weighs around 1000 g, so a little heavier

@@kimricarte If it's anything like his Tiger 6x6, he'll likely release the LDD and someone will create instructions for public consumption after a while. His design is only a month old and he may still be working out some of the kinks. He released the LDD for Tiger 6x6 completely free and someone built a nice PDF instruction set which is also free. I'm building that now and it's light years beyond my design capability. So, unless we develop mad Technic skills like him we'll have to settle with being a bit behind the curve. I've built and researched Lego Technic offroaders for over a year now and Wildcat is the most powerful and capable Lego offroader ever built. He deserves to bask in the limelight a bit. I'm quite grateful he shared this video without being accused of putting on an 'ego show'. He's still teaching us things. I was able to build the steering rack he showed based only on this video and it's positively amazing.
