Robin Hood Bricks

Күн бұрын

My secret train build is here, and it's a Schienenzeppelin or Rail Zeppelin which is a real life train from 1930 that was powered by a propeller at the back. Crazy? Yup, it sure is. This has probably been the longest and hardest design process I've ever undertaken to get the build looking both true to the original train whilst also working well on my LEGO tracks. I think it's going to be FAST and very long when it's done. Don't forget to look out for Part 2!

Oh god, this thing! That's something I'd never have expected you to make, but definitely something unique and fantastic. Might also be interesting to do one of the designs like the Aerotrainfrom the 1970s, built for the monorail system, to switch out at some times.

Retro-futurism actually refers to the past’s depictions of the future. I personally really like like 1920s futurism, at least in regard to architecture. You get these towering, monolithic neoclassical skyscrapers with layers of bridges rails and roads spanning the gaps and winding between them

Amazing project as always ! How can you still making trains while sticking to your 2 loops tracks only plan ? ^^" Can't Mrs Wood let you had some shelves on the wall to display your trains while they're not running, sorry, bumping into each other!, on the passenger tracks ? Sad to see that you can't make them run at there full potencial without making the others trains magically disappear from the city. This zeppelin train reminds me of the Aérotrain, an hovercraft monorail train project, tested in the late 60's in France near where I live, before the TGV project takeover. @@RobinHoodBricks It's alll really disappointing. 3rd party companies like Big Ben Bricks have been making custom drivers long before Lego even came out with the ones for the Emerald Knight. And other companies like TrixBrix/BrickTracks/FXBrix are making new injection molded and 3d printed train tracks in all types of shapes and crossings. Heck even new 9v tracks and control systems. TrixBrix has been making TONS of specialty crossings for the narrow gauge Indiana jones coaster type of track. If you want more challenge for buildings trains I'd say give narrow gauge a try.

@@RobinHoodBricks you’re right. Still, it’s an awesome original design. Great job as usual. 😊

With LEGO, everything is only suggestive of something and never that exact thing. So, that airplane/space shuttle nose is just as good as anything else. EBL is the only manufacturer who offers 9V 600 mAh rechargeable batteries; everyone else stays way below 300 mAh (mostly 200, but also 220, 250, or even - very rare! - 280). That makes me doubt that EBL's claimed capacity is actually real. Cool project, by all means!

Hey robin! Again, I don't know if you have done this already, but for halloween how does a haunted house sound? Just got the set and it looks amazing, but I feel like you could do even better! :)

I don't have a Halloween build planned for this year. You've seen the huge haunted subway from last year I take it? That was cool!

Quick question will you be getting any of the new marvel minifigures? Although I'm not sure how the pieces would work in brick Nottingham. Maybe captain Carter could work especially with the British flag.
