I got this set yesterday, and I love it! It's the most fun I've had with a lego minecraft set since all the way back in the first wave, when I got the end set with the awesome full diamond armor. I love the sets that have the bosses/boss arenas in them. I also fought my first warden in the game today. My friend and I fought and killed 10 of them before we decided to pack up and go home. It was a very stressful, but extremely fun time. I had to wait until after to build the set, because I wasn't going to let myself build a mob i haven't beaten before!

This is definitely the one Minecraft set I’m getting this January. Not only is the warden amazing but the Arbalest Knight is probably my new favorite Lego Minecraft skin. Sure the printing on the face may be a little bit sub optimal but Lego has definitely done way worse before. Just look at the Mercy figure from the Overwatch wave for an excellent example. Lego just really stinks at printing light colors over darker ones. Overall though I really like this set & while I’m not that interested in Minecraft sets as much, I will definitely be picking this one up. Now if only they would do a decently large Lush Caves set.

You’re the reason I’m slowly getting back into Lego Minecraft. Anyways, I don’t really feel like buying this sets, mainly because there’s not much besides the warden ( which I will remember my first time encountering ) and two players. The two sets I might be picking up however is the mangrove swamp and end battle for the slime, and shulker ( plus I don’t have an end set, and the mangrove looks fun ) Anyways early happy early new year! I’m super exited, I keep rewatching your review to really remind myself that it’s actually a thing, I went to toys r us on Saturday in Canada and thy had 3 of these just sitting on the bottom shelf lol, that hefty $85 CAD price-tag is definitely showing it’s part lol, it’s like $90 CAD after tax lol, definitely an expensive set, but it’ll be worth it! I like the model for the Warden, it's a good size and looks pretty accurate and being able to raise him up is very cool. But i feel like this set doesn't do justice to the beauty of the deep dark. I really liked your version of it and although i wouldn't expect lego to go to that level of detail this feels very simple in comparison.

I really like the set, but as always I have a few problems. The Warden looks great, but as I'm sure nobody is surprised about, your version looks better. I think a nice blending of your version and the official version would be a nice middle ground. I also don't really like the shrieker design. The printed 2x2 tile just feels a bit lazy in my opinion, and I thing finding a way to incorporate some of the small claw pieces would have been nice. Maybe a 2x2 plate with hollow studs on top to place the claws into? Other than that though, this is a pretty good Minecraft set.

Definitely not perfect, but they did a pretty good job. I do agree that the shrieker design isn't quite perfect, but it's just so hard to do right at that scale. It just doesn't feel... scary? enough as is.

This is incredible, definitely gonna pick up once it's available- honestly the warden legs don't bother me. I wish there was a little more branching out structure, instead of the whole set stuck to a square area, as I feel it slightly takes away from the feeling of being in a made like deep dark city. I really like the way they went with the warden's design. The huge tendrils don't bother me too much, but the legs do seem a bit excessive. Your version absolutely blew me away with all the intricacies and details, but it does seem fragile, which is a big dealbreaker for me.

I will admit I have a slight preference for this colour scheme compared to your own-I'd be curious to see a full game accurate Ancient City build with this colour scheme, but it's so large it's totally impractical, so this smaller take is rather nicely sized, I think, especially with it landing at a pretty decently comfortable price point.
