We’ve been posting once a week still. We might see an increase in the coming months, but it’s really up to what’s going on in the parks. Generally, once Spring break hits, our average videos/week increases because there’s lots going on.

Thank you so much for all of your videos-we have a trip planned in October during Fall Break and I have been trying to binge watch all your videos to prepare myself! I did have a question though: I have 4 kids of different ages, but I want to make sure we can fit everything into 1 day (we're not going to the water park). Do you have a video you've made and you recommend I watch to help plan for all the lines so that my older kids (9 and 11) can get in as many rides as possible? We're essentially hoping to "rope drop" and stay until closing!

Depends on what you like the best. I enjoy Christmas the most personally, but that’s just because the crowds are lower and I love Christmas. Tourism in SoCal runs from March to October for the most part, so that’s when you’ll see you’re highest crowd levels at LEGOLAND.

Hi SoCal Disney Dad! Loved the guide, though I am missing some information on photo packages and individual photos. How is the package? How much is an individual photo? Can you do digital for either or do you have to print? Is it worth it? Do you need to pre-purchase? Etc.. I am curious to know.
@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
Great question! I never buy photos (in any park for any reason) so it wasn’t something I even thought to include. It looks like a single day of unlimited photos costs $45. If you’d like to just purchase a single ride photo, I’m not sure how much that would be until I get back in the park (Feb 17th). Here’s the info I found this: www.legoland.com/california/tickets-passes/extras-experiences/unlimited-digital-photos/

what accomodation do you recommend to stay between legoland and LAX that is nice, safe, good for family and not too expensive?
@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
That’s a good question. Unfortunately, I don’t have much need for hotels living locally so I’m not really sure. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels near Disneyland, but they, by nature of being close to Disney, will be more expensive. I’ve also stayed at LEGOLAND’s hotels solely for review purposes, and both are fantastic, but on the pricier end as well.

Thanks for all your great video. I have two questions 🙋🏻‍♀️ Do you think it is possible to visit all 3 parks in one single day with a four years old kid? And the water at the water park won’t be too cold to do this park first thing in the morning? Thanks a lot 🙏🇺🇸
@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
It’s possible, but not advised. I would like to add that they aren’t “3 parks” if you will. It’s all one park, but different aspects of that one park. For instance, you can’t even access the Water Park without a ticket to LEGOLAND. The water park is basically a single land within the whole theme park. Just one that requires extra admission. The SEA LIFE aquarium, on the other hand, does have the ability to visit it separate from LEGOLAND itself, but it’ll take 30-60 minutes max. It is not large. With that caveat, I’d say an hour for the aquarium and a minimum of 2 hours for the water park. That leaves you with 5-6 hours (depending on their closing time) to enjoy LEGOLAND itself. With 20 some rides in the park, that’s not enough time to enjoy them all. But you could get 5-6 of your top priority rides done. The water in the water park is heated. It’s nice and comfortable in 60 degree air temp weather. Just cold to get out of because of the wind.

We were gifted tickets to Legoland ...my question is ..do we need a separate ticket to get into waterpark? Just trying to plan ahead as I'll be going alone with my 4 kiddos of which 2 are special needs and I want to know what to expect ahead of time
@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
If it’s a Resort Hopper ticket you don’t need separate tickets. If it’s just a standard ticket, yes, you’ll need to purchase the add-on at the water park itself when you go.

@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
They are mostly small rides meant for kids. Where a lot of other theme parks cater to adults as well as kids, LEGOLAND is very heavily kid based. It's a place I wouldn't go without kids. That being said, large individuals can fit on most attractions. There are some that ONLY smaller children can do and they have height/age MAXIMUMS. The only rides anyone can do that I can think of that might be tight fits are the Technic Coaster and Unikitty's Disco Drop. The rest *should* be fine.

Thanks for video and we just booked a 3 night trip in April. Our kids are both Lego fans and I can’t wait. My son will find something to buy. However, are there gifts like necklaces, bracelets or rings etc for girls. We like to hit up the gift shops when traveling. Thanks.
@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
I don’t pay a whole lot of attention to the gift shops, so it’s hard to say. The BIG Shop, which is the main store, is about 80% LEGO sets. They do have LEGO sets for girls, but whether they sell other things besides LEGO sets I’m not entirely sure. I’ve seen shirts and some other apparel in there. I’m just not sure about necklaces and things.

@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
You can bring it outside snacks and drinks, but I wouldn’t go crazy as to make it look like a full on picnic for 10 people. If you get my meaning? We frequently take in an appropriate amount of snacks for our two kids. Usually don’t have bottles of soda or anything with us though. We bring in our own reusable water bottles. Given that they sell soda, there’s a possibility they may not like the soda. But I can’t say for certain? They won’t allow outside meals, like a bag of McDonald’s or anything. You’re best eating things like that before arriving, etc.

This is an embarrassing question to ask but do you know if uhm "Pooh-Sized" people like me are able to go on any of the rides? me and my family are going this Saturday for my baby brother's late birthday. it will be our first time ever going to Legoland i wanna see if im able to go in any rides and save myself from embarrassment 😅 I weigh about 230 somewhat have a belly will there be any adjustments that can be made for me or is it just that bar that has to go all the way towards the stomach and click?
@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
That’s nothing to be embarrassed about at all, and is a perfectly valid question many people have and it’s good to ask. I did some research and found someone who went to the Orlando park. They have mostly the same rides. Their report was that they are 5’2” and a size 22. They couldn’t ride Coastersaurus because the bar wouldn’t latch, but everything else was fine. They did mention that the Dragon has a 330 lb weight limit per car. This person said between them and their child, it put them right at the limit and they chose not to ride. However, in retrospect, they said they could have just ridden in their own row. Technic Coaster was fine. They likely didn’t have LEGO movie world at the time, so Unikitty’s Disco Drop could be a potential problem. But if they were fine on Technic, which I feel is a tight fit, then Unikitty is probably okay too. All the other rides will be perfectly fine.

That is currently the plan weather permitting. If it’s 50 degrees and rainy, I probably won’t be going. But if it’s north of 60 degrees and at least semi-decent weather I’ll go. Ideally, it would be 70. But we’ve had an exceptionally cold winter this year and so I’m not super hopeful.

We went on Monday. Kids were still off of school, so it was probably a little busier than it would be on a day like today. Couple that with the rain from the weekend and people going on Monday that would have gone Saturday or Sunday and it’s pretty crowded. It was definitely one of the busier days I’ve seen. But it was technically still Christmas break/holidays.
@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
Forgot to answer the second question. No, it’s not usually that busy. In about two weeks (or less), I expect it’ll be pretty light on crowds until March and Spring Break hits.

How does the ultimate pass work? Do we have to reserve for ultimate pass to be able to go on rides and does it need to be assigned to somebody? Also, is it wristband or do they just scan the phone app when entering rides? Thanks
@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
Yes, you’ll need to reserve rides through the app. It will show you a list of rides available as well as how long you’ll need to wait. You’ll make your selection and then when the time is up (I.e. 15 minutes, etc) you’ll return to the ride and use the Reserve and Ride entrance. They’ll either look at your app or scan it, it’s been awhile since I used it so I don’t quite remember that part. A single phone for the whole party will do. I believe it indicates the number of people on the app.

You can book an Aquarium only ticket. But if you're wanting to do both the aquarium AND the regular park, you would purchase the SEA LIFE Hopper ticket. You don't need a separate "reservation." The date you book for the theme park will be the date for the aquarium as well.

That's tough. There are several rides that not only have height requirements, but age requirements too. We didn't take our kids until our youngest was about 3. And even then, he didn't really started enjoying it until he surpassed 4 and could ride everything. That's not to say there AREN'T rides that two years can enjoy. There are still plenty. No, all theme parks in Southern California have dropped any and all requirements with regards to Covid, save having to make reservations. Looks like a lot of young kids. My grandson is going to be 12 is he too old for Lego Land?
@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
12 is the upper age limit for a few rides. A 12 year old can still have fun at legoland. My wife went to Legoland for the first time around that age and has fond memories of her visit. I would say that depends on the overall demeanor of the child. If they’re still having fun with “kid stuff” then they’d probably really enjoy it. But if they’re starting to think of those things as “too little” then they might not have fun.
@SheWolf_Warrior
@SheWolf_Warrior Жыл бұрын
You’re never too old for LEGOLAND. I’m turning 17 soon and I love LEGOLAND so much! It all really depends on the child. If your grandson likes LEGO and has an interest in going to LEGOLAND, then he will have fun and no, he is definitely not too old for it because you are never too old to like and enjoy things like this.

Does okay for 9months old baby?
@SoCalDisneyDad
@SoCalDisneyDad Жыл бұрын
I'm planning on putting together a ride guide this coming weekend. So be on the look out for that video sometime next week. It'll cover height requirements, etc that will highlight just what a 9 month old can do. The short answer, though, is 9 months is a little too young to enjoy most things at LEGOLAND. There are some rides they can do, but there's a lot they can't. If you have older children and the 9 month old is the youngest, I wouldn't worry too much about the youngest. Let the older kids have a great time. But if the 9 month old is your only child, I'd probably recommend waiting until they're older. The good news is the 9 month old would be free because most theme parks recognize children at that age can't do a whole lot.
