Legoland New York opened in late May 2021 as the ninth and newest Legoland theme park. This 150 acre theme park is owned by Merlin and it is located in Goshen, New York on a giant hill. The park features 7 themed lands: Brick Street, Bricktopia, Ninjago, Lego Castle, Lego City, Lego Pirates, and Miniland. These colorful areas feature interactive displays and a strong collection of family rides. And I think it's the best Legoland in the United States already. Find out why in this review!

So I work at Legoland NY & it’s legit such a fun job. I work in the photography department & I love it so much. Plus I did get engaged in Miniland so yeah, it’s a special place to me 🤣 I know this video is from 2021 but for anyone wondering, we have been fixing the shade issue by putting in more shaded areas for people to cool down during the summer. They also have water stations at the Coke refill stations for guests to use for free! Plus we just opened our new Water Playground plus they’re adding even more fun for everyone, like a new boat swing ride in Lego City. There is also the Miniland Hub, which makes for walking to certain areas a bit easier. They are constantly improving & it’s just awesome to see. I’m not just saying that because I work there, it is genuinely great to see them listen to guest feedback. Hopefully y’all can come visit Legoland NY! 😊

My dad and I talked to a lot of people while there and it sounds like a lot more is open than when they previewed it. The big thing we didn't get to do is the fire engine ride. It was closed on Friday and half of Saturday, but most of the other rides were open.

Great review, pretty much my exact thoughts on the park. Despite a couple small issues here or there, I was impressed by their offerings for such a new park. I do personally prefer Legoland Florida for its coaster lineup and the gardens, but Legoland NY is not far behind and is a welcome change of pace for Northeastern parks.

Went there today (August 2nd, 2021) and had to wait an hour and a half for the Coast Guard Academy ride, which is only a 2 minute ride. Most of the other popular rides had at least 45 min wait times. Part of the problem is 1 person will wait in line then let 10 members in their family in. Also didn't like to $27 parking fee they hit you with on the way out.

Big thank you for the water bottle tip, I went today and your recommendation there was a lifesaver. Especially since I didn't want to pay for parking so I parked at a free lot in town. As for the park itself I grew up as a Puzz 3D kid as opposed to a lego kid but the mini cities they have certainly appeal to me as that's what you do with Puzz 3D. Speaking of which, I recognise that a lot of effort goes into the sets they have so I actually don't think the price tag is all that gross if you're using a discount code. The lego factory dark ride sort of makes me think a combination of the chocolate world dark ride (theme) and Spiderman at Islands of Adventure (vehicles). As for the coasters, Dragon is fun, I like that they have the dark ride section and the coaster section. Dragon's Apprentace on the other hand, the park could have done so much better given the horrific operations I saw. To be clear, not the ride ops fault, it's Merlin's fault or someone in upper management that sets rules like how operations are done. Even if they were set on a ride like that with putrid capacity (even more so with one of the rows closed for who knows why) they could que the next group of people up for their rows and measure kids for the next cycle during the ride cycle, they don't. Because of how they were dispatching they were doing upwards of 5 minute dispatches. Comparing it to other parks marketed towards kids I personally prefer Quassy and Dutch Wonderland because I like the old school flat rides those parks have which feature some surprises like the island at Dutch Wonderland or one of the dragons from Whalom Park on Quassy's caroucel (I grew up watching a PBS documentary called Great Old Amusement Parks, was sad to learn what happened to Whalom 2 years after filming but happy to see at least one dragon still around). Speaking of those parks, that gets to what I think Legoland NY needs most; a family wooden coaster that will provide surprisingly good airtime. And we know more is coming to the park seeing the construction on the hill, I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like that and took advantage of the terrain.

As someone who lives in the area, there's not much of a point to go to Legoland when you have better options within 1-3 hours away. You can get to Great Wolf Lodge, Six Flags Great Adventure, Sesame Place, and Hershey Park from Goshen New York without the car trip being too long. Also, the Professor Brick Ride keeps breaking down and they have to evacuate passengers. Not a day went by when I didn't hear them talk about a ride breaking down. I swear, a ride broke down every hour.

That ride opened late for me and the same happened to someone else who went a week before me. I hope they get the kinks ironed out! I do prefer this park to Sesame Place and Great Wolf Lodge. I went in August and the park has a lot of issues, many related to staffing problems. Several rides were closed throughout the 2 days I was there with my family, and also many food vendors were closed, leaving the ones that were open with longer lines and crowds. Honestly it still feels like the park and hotel are in "preview" status. The hotel pool is still closed and a lot of guests have had problems with getting in to their rooms on time, some waiting hours for their room to be ready. I personally don't think it's fair for them to charge full price for this experience as it is currently, but I do think it will improve and I plan on returning to hopefully have a better experience at another time later in the season or next year.

Ever since I saw they were building this I was excited to take my son. We're going next month, but gotta say it looks underwhelming. For the price of a 2 night stay at the hotel and passes to the park for two days, I expected more rides and not so much grassy area. Reminds me of the zoo in Akron, Ohio that has a bit too much land dedicated to landscaping.

All of the water refill stations were open this weekend!!! The temp is not cold at all, but when you're thirsty, who cares lol. This place is a lot of fun. My family and I enjoyed the entire experience. Bring chargers for your phones because you will be taking LOTS of pictures. The firetruck ride was awesome!!! I laughed the entire time and got yelled at for not pumping fast and hard enough rofl. The food at the Smokey's Brick BBQ was amazing. The price is hefty, but you get so much food. Was there with the wife and kids this past Sunday. Has potential, needs a little more added to it. It was hot, I do not see any shade any time soon. How do you plant trees and grass with nooo water irrigation?!? Everything was dying. The place looked beat up without some green grass lush plants and trees. No flowers for color. The lines were too long for the ride system they have(45-70 mins wait). Guest should’ve had been able to hop on and hop off fast, must’ve been understaff. Also 16 bucks for cup of coors light?!? Nutz! If they fix these things, I can see my self and the family going back and even spending a night at the hotel.

I went to a preview event back in may when the pirate and city areas weren't open yet, and just went back a couple days ago. It was good. Yes, lack of shade is an issue, but it was just built and trees don't grow to adult overnight. There were some electrical issues with the miniland, leading to some things not working, and the issues relate to the environment cause NY is a different environment than FL and CA. It has winter, thus it's seasonal vs the others that are in fair weather areas where they can be open year-round. There are also differences between themes that relate to what rides there are in the different parks, mainly due to the age (example: CA has been around since 1999 and has themes present at the time, like an Indiana Jones-theme adventure rides vs NY that doesn't). There's much more I can say but I'd rather not have this comment to go on for so long.

This was not our family's experience at all. 1hr+ wait times for all rides, severely understaffed, very poor quality food. The theming was nice but the rest of the experience was poor - as my son said, "This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in."

I'm undoubtedly biased as I grew up going to Legoland California, but to me the New York park just doesn't look to have quite the same level of charm. There looks to be a lot more empty space here, a lot fewer Lego gimmicks scattered around the pathways, and the park just doesn't seem to have as many attractions (even compared to opening day of the California park). I will say that the Lego Factory Adventure does look quite impressive, but beyond that there isn't anything else that looks particularly worthwhile. Hopefully the park will grow with time and in a few years it might be more worth checking out.
