I have always hated Harumi's motivation and the way she is portrayed in the series. Her whole business is literally says: "Wow, my parents are dead, I'm traumatized, so now I'm angry!" They cast her as a villain who is "a good person at heart and really cares about the city, but they also contradict the fact that she is a terrorist and takes great pleasure in brutally torturing Lloyd. The writers ostensibly want to show that Harumi is a "very complex character", but she is actually a very inconsistent and flat character who has a solid personality: "I kill people, but I'm actually fine, it's all trauma." Seriously you say that you are good, but why then do your actions say otherwise? She speaks loudest of all that she cares about Lloyd, but no one hurt him as much as Harumi (even Garmadon, who was posessed and said that he did not understand goodness, and then helped Lloyd more). I hate Harumi not because she's a villain, but because of the way she's written. Just because she has a "tragic past" and knows how to torment Lloyd isn't enough to make her a "good villain". Yes, everyone seems to say that she "holds a grudge against Lloyd", but she also caused great damage to the city, no matter what she says that she "takes care of him, because this is also her city." She literally caused two cataclysms in Ninjago. And we are not so naive as to think that no one died because of her actions. I don't know why the writers are so eager for us to sympathize with her and constantly mention that "she has a trauma" and this automatically "forgives all her actions."
