Vancouver is going to have to wait until free agency. They still have to resign Lankanen and Boeser, which they will. Lekkerimaki, D-Petey, Willander, and Mancini could all make the team next year. Their lower tier UFA's can be resigned for similar money, and moved up and down from Abby, if not goodbye. If they can sign a top 6 forward and top 4 defenceman in free agency they will be set.

The Canucks better get players through trades because they will never be able to sign a big name UFA. After this Miller/ Pettersen drama played out in the public. No UFA will want to come to Vancouver. They will be questioning what the hell is going on here. The Canucks made themselves look like clowns with the way they dealt with the situation. I’m talking about the coach and the management. This whole debacle was an embarrassment and made the team look bad. What big name UFA wants to be part in this team?

My concern is swapping a simalar player for a similar player. At the time of this comment Boeser actually has more points then Norris. They are not even that far apart in goals. Seperated by only a few. I know hockey is a buisness, but we have seen how connected many of the young players are on this team. I just fear others games going down because of needless trades. Sometimes I feel that our expectations of Brock Boeser where a bit unrealistic too. Not everyone we think can be, is gonna be, a 40 to 45 goal man every season.

​@philippeleblanc5314 I approach it slightly differently when it comes to cap. Yes, cap space trends upwards. When and how much is more random. If I'm allocating say 10% of the cap right now, I'm doing it in the hope it trends down as the contract winds up til expiration. Any future increase in cap is for future contacts to eat up, not to make past contracts look smaller or easier to stomach. But that's just me. I respectfully disagree regarding his defense. His underlying numbers are close to league average. I'm not against acquiring Norris. Just pointing out what I feel is his true value. And just for shits and giggles, I apply the following matrix when assigning a valuation on a player. For forwards, I apply 100k per point. Take their career high, their career average PPG, then the average of the delta. Give or take 10% for intangibles or lack thereof. Try it, you get some interesting numbers and they make sense.

@@Xyy2387yk what ur right. I’m just looking at a sens fan point of view. I find, that when we have pinto and stuzle in the lineup Norris appears like a 8 mil player. I see that pinto goes well against top other lines and it leaves the worst lines up to Norris and stuzle. In those cases he just seems so much better hard to explain. For me, in a year or two 8 mil will be acceptable for borderline first liners which noris at least for the sens is. Well, yeah he ain’t worth it but I feel like he’s worth value. As I’m righting this he scored and u gotta keep in mind he’s been doing good as of late while other sens have been ghosts. Anyways as a sens fan, I would say he’s on a… ok contract.

I like the player but the contract is the most concerning part for sure.
