I like how the narrative doesn't treat Gosha as being too cautious or having his mentality be unjustified. When you want to stand up for your rights, even in little ways, you risk a fight. And when you have a kid... a fight could mean an orphan. At the same time, while Legoshi is acting rashly, it's not like things will change easily. The owner himself is a mark of how things change gradually. Incremental. Yet had he been a little slower. Had those 3 birds been a little faster...

The thing is Legoshi is a fucking monster in terms of strength. Going toe to toe with a Tiger and a Bear means his strength is insanely high. Gosha's voice was quite a surprise for many, I'msure. When I was reading the manga, I thought of him sounding moderately deep, maybe with a hint of an accent, and definitely not like that. But the more I think about the voice they chose for the anime, the more it makes sense - Gosha is *really* dangerous, both as a beefcake of a man (that's why he's crouching, just like Legoshi - to appear at least a bit less threatening) and as a part of a poisonous species. He appears really threatening to other animals in-universe, so a deep gruff voice conveys this feelings for us, viewers. The same doesn't work for Legoshi though - smaller animals might cover in fear when he appears, but his lanky stature and his voice paint him as a sensitive goofball he is.
